International Student Volunteering Stories and Advice
Le Quan (Jenny) Ly – International Student and Volunteer:
“Sydney is my second home. The academic life is quite hectic sometimes, however the lectures are world-class. I am passionate about community work and I have participated in many not-for-profit organisations in Sydney to raise funds for research, help homeless people, children, people with cancer or anyone that is in need of a hand. I feel so proud to be in Australia, the country with the strongest charity culture in the world! I enjoy cooking great Chinese and Vietnamese foods, especially baking different kind of cakes for my family and friends. Seeing my family members and beloved friends eating great foods and spend time together is the best feeling. My advice to new students is to be active and confident! Volunteering is a great way to improve your English, make new friends and understand more about Australian culture.”
