SPRING 2014 TRENDS – THE COUNTRY WEDDING

I don’t know about you, but as soon as the calendar clicks over to July things just seem to fast forwardtowards Christmas. This year in particular has flown by, with the amazing WEOA QLD Awards for Excellence and spring wedding season seeming to have come and gone in the blink of an eye! As I sit here looking out at the afternoon storms rolling in (again) I know we’re in for a wild Brisbane summer!

This season saw a huge increase in the rustic wedding cake trend, with textured buttercream finishes, fresh flowers and hessian ribbons proving popular. When we were invited by Eva from Foreva Events to be a part of a rural wedding shoot, we couldn’t turn down the opportunity!

With sunlight dappled through the overhanging trees, a babbling creek and a cake table from old wooden crates and barrels, it really is the picture of a perfect country wedding. If you think it can’t get any more amazing, just wait until you see the vintage styling, hand made stationary and hanging flower arrangements!

Our cake was a two tiered ivory ruffle design, finished with hessian wrap and greenery and, fitting with the country theme, we provided some of our rose and pistachio macarons just for fun.
