We know if S&C were together, the PTB would love the PR. So I’m curious. What “reason” do shippers give that those powers would want to hide it? Makes no sense.
They've given lots of reasons throughout the years, none of which make any sense.
But the two main ones are: 1. that Starz/Sony have a "no fraternizing" rule that prevents any actors on Outlander from being romantically involved. As a result, Sam and Cait have had to hide their relationship and 5 children all this time. 🙄
The DEBUNK on that is that NO studio has dictated actors' dating lives since circa 👇
2. Starz/Sony sold the "Sam is single" narrative to attract female followers who could then fantasize that Sam was available to them and ready to mingle with fans. 🙄
The DEBUNK on that is: Outlander is the epic love story of an epic couple... and women love that shit. Case in point, in the beginning of Outlander, we ALL wanted Sam and Cait to be a real couple. And Cait being with Sam in real life would NOThave deterred any fan from still fantasizing about Sam. Just like ALL the male actors out there who have significant others and women still swoon over them. Cait and Sam being together in real life AND WITH children would have been PR gold, and Diana Gabaldon would be writing Outlander volume 15 right now, trying to keep up with the demand. JS. 😊
So, yes, Extreme Shippers' beliefs make NO sense but they still hold onto them. 🤷♀️
