For April Fools this year, I Rick Rolled all of my students this week for the new song they had to learn and half of them didn’t get it...

I realized the other day that I have been out of a sport for the longest stretch of time in my life so far. I did ballet for 11 years until I sprain my ankle and it was only a year before I jumped into martial arts after that. And that took up SO much of my life for just under 4 years... 

I’ve just been in a weird funk lately where I either have absolutely zero energy or motivation, or the complete opposite where I want to run for miles and do three tournament fights. But I don’t really have any outlet now for pent up energy. :/ I end up getting antsy or irritated even though I try to stay in check or direct that energy to other tasks. It doesn’t work very well.. On the flip side, not doing anything makes me feel even worse. I might go see a doc later maybe.. My appetite has severely gone down too and I’m not sure why. Nothing sounds/tastes good at all for almost a month now and it’s hard to even eat one meal a day. 

I feel like if I got some exercise it might kick-start everything back to normal, but it’s boring just going to a random gym. I want to do a sport, but my city doesn’t offer very much if you’re an adult who a.) is not a student in college or b.) doesn’t already have a background in that sport. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll probably never go back into martial arts/fighting again, but I want something that still gives you more of a rush than more ‘normal’ sports.

My mom sent me a link to a parkour gym a while ago when it opened and again more recently when she realized I’ve been feeling off. I think after I get in a bit better shape, I’ll check them out. They seem pretty chill and open, and I’ve always had an interest in free-running/parkour. hn we’ll see what happens. I’ll check in out when I get back from LA maybe
