Oh god, uhm... Probably fucking up my child? I’m pretty damaged, in a few different ways, and I really don’t want him growing up to be fucked in the head like me. There’s so many things I wish I could change about the first couple of years of his life, when I was going through all the stresstrauma of his father leaving me and struggling to take care of a sick child by myself, but I keep reminding myself that there’s no do-overs in life and the best I can do is to try to do better for him now.

27: Talk about your favorite part of someone else's body.

Ayyyye, mate what. I dunno, bodies are weird. I guess I like hands? Holding hands is a kind of quiet intimacy that I think is overlooked in our world these days. You do so much with your hands, you use them for almost everything, so holding on to someone has a whole different meaning if you think about it. You hold the world in your hands sometimes, yeah?

Paper - What is your favorite novel?The problem is I get so behind on reading (my current Excel list is about 85 books long) and I basically went years without doing it (except for Harry Potter) that I don’t think I can truly answer this. I was reading To Kill a Mockingbird in February, but then my depression kicked in and my library loan ended three days after Harper Lee’s death, so I’m not getting it back for a while. I could say that, since I read it in eighth grade, but I barely remember it.

Adieu - Who do you dread saying goodbye to the most?My parents. I know they aren’t quite “old” yet (they’ll both be 62 this year), but I worry about them a lot with their various health issues. Mom could have died in 2002. Dad nearly did in 2011. It’s scary, especially since the oldest one of their parents made it to was 80.

I just want to cry, he’s fighting me every fucking night about going to bed, which has never really been too much of a problem. We’ve had our bad nights, but it’s usually not this bad. EVERY. FUCKING. NIGHT. he tells me I’m mean, that I don’t want him to go to sleep, I’m this, I’m that, I’m the worst mommy ever. Which, fine, whatever, you’re not hurting my feelings, kid, I know you’re just tired and cranky, but he keeps on with this shit and refuses to lay in his own bed, so tonight I was like, fuck it, he can sleep in my bed and I’ll just carrying him to his room, but then he started that shit again and refused to stay in the room unless I was in there. He always wants to sleep in the bed with me, but I don’t like sleeping with other people (and he’s a wiggly starfish, which makes it 3259743897 times worse), and so I have to deal with him sneaking into my room in the middle of the night and I just want him to sleep in his room with minimal fighting EVERY GODDAMN NIGHT and I just feel like a shit mom who can’t take care of her own fucking kid and he’s such a little dick about everything lately and I don’t want to spank him (mostly because it’s bad but also because it doesn’t really affect him) but when he gets like this, talking with him doesn’t work and I’m at my wit’s end and don’t know what to do and I just want to lay down and cry, but I can’t because he’s in my fucking bed and I’m really sorry I just dumped everything on you like this.
