"When I insert a symbol of an appliance from another file, it disappears when I look it in right isometric and render it with Open GL. Know why this is?"
... when I look it in right isometric and render it with Open GL. Know why this is?"
The answer is...
Yes. The most likely explanation is that you used your Saved View of the isometric in question -- which is as you should. The trouble is, the appliance symbol was probably made by its creators to belong to a Class that it brought with it into the file, but which didn't exist – or was turned off – at the time when you created the Saved View. (The Saved View didn't just save the viewing angle, but also preserved the particular setup of Layers and Classes that you have turned on and off at that time – that's the meaning of the checkboxes Restore Layer Visibility and Restore Class Visibility.) You can easily fix this, though, by choosing Edit View… from the Saved Views popdown [1], selecting the Kitchen Cabinets R. Isometric view from the list and right-clicking it to Edit… it [2], then clicking on its Classes… setup, and turning on the various Classes – such as Plumbing Fixtures, Style-1, Style-2, etc. – that weren't turned on when that view was originally created [4]. After OKing all the dialogs, choose that Saved View again, and you should see the hood and various other items (such as the countertops that you set to a Style-# class) that have disappeared.
