Dear Diary,

It’s been a week now since I arrived in Alola and I slowly begin to grasp what all these Pokémon trainers would mean when they talked about “adventures”. I found so many wild Pokémon here that I have never heard of and even familiar ones look quite different here. In my book those are called “regional forms” and it’s the most fascinating thing I’ve read about in years! I’m planning on doing more research on this subject.

Hades and Luna seem to like it here as well. Allthough, the heat seems to be quite an issue for poor Luna and her thick fur. Hades is definitely having the time of his life. He’s been chasing Wingulls on the beach all morning. I hope he will be fine, since he is still a Fire type and Wingulls... well...

Despite all the worries and fears I had about this journey, it was the best decision I ever made. The people here are so friendly and helpful even though I’m a complete stranger. It almost feels like the radiant light on these islands does not come from the sun or the moon, but from the friendly and warm smiles of these people.

The feeling of loneliness still resides within me, but I can feel the cold inside slowly fading away. Maybe this journey will give me the strength I need to keep on going.

I think I heard Hades cry out outside. Maybe he was hit by a Water Gun for teasing the Wingulls. I’ll go look for him now.
