Forgive me if this question is kinda stupid because im not entirely aware of the situations with the subminds in destiny, but do you think it would be possible for them to make an exo version too like what rasputin did with felwinter?
Also, second question do you think it could be possible for a gaurdian to be transferred into an exo body, and if so, could the ghost resurect both the exo and non exo bodies? (Ive been watching stuff about the exos and this question has comes to my mind a few time I know gaurdians dont need to be transferred into an exo body but hypothetically if they did what do you think would happen?)
Oh you are having some cool thoughts here (not a stupid question!)
Regarding the subminds- presently in-game I believe there aren’t really any left after Seraph, with maybe the exception of a mind called Voluspa who I don’t think there’s actually any info on, AND if you’re tricky, possibly Astraea, the AI managing Vesper Station. She’s not overtly described as a Mind like say Rasputin or Charlemagne but she refers to some of those minds as her brothers and sisters iirc so if she isn’t quite to that classification level she’s damn close.
So nobody really left now. In the past? I have two contradicting answers:
Technically probably not. Rasputin did his little clone project in extreme secret: pointedly hiding it from both humans AND other AIs (“this is a subtle assets imperative [no human review][no AI-COM review]” so nobody knew about what he was doing, and even if one of them found out and/or thought of it on their own, I imagine it couldn’t be hidden from Rasputin. It feels unlikely he would allow it. (The damn hypocrite lol)
But- for the sake of a good story - I definitely believe the potential is plausible. There are obstacles, as I’ve described, but there’s no reason to say the subminds aren’t smart enough as individuals to figure it out, and even maybe give Big Red the slip. It’s a cool concept!
This line of thinking kind of applies to my thoughts about your exo question too- ultimately, in a setting already with some REALLY weird lore, why the hell not?
I kind of see another question you didn’t quite ask: could a human guardian who perishes during an exomind transfer be rezzed again.
…There’s been SO MUCH discussion IN STORY and also in the community about how much of one’s original identity is really preserved when they become Exos. I’m going to point at Banshee as the obvious example as an exo who wakes up and essentially tells his former self to sit and spin and doesn’t agree with Clovis (himself) at all.
So. Do we have two copies of the same guardian or two different guys with a common past?
I think it’s physically plausible (assuming we can find the effectively lost processes for mind uplinks etc ) but man I don’t want to try and sort that existential knot lol.
