The woman’s sudden comment caused Elliot to falter for a moment,gaze lifting towards her features to try and discern if she meant it ornot. Of course she was serious; she was a tenacious woman, andthe shifter was honestly surprised it took long for her to comment onhis sudden protectiveness over her.
A sheepish chuckle escaped him as he pulled up short, hand rubbingat the back of his neck and head ducking down.
”I know but I can’t help it.”
With any other relative stranger, he would not hesitate to turn tail and run but with Logan? It just didn’t quite fit, leaving her to fend for herself. No matter what she said.
