A sigh fell from her lips, not wanting to hear that tone of voice or see that look. And to think the only one that ever gave her a look of concern would be her own clone. Not Paul. Why would he? “Come on, Ali, I didn’t come here for pity.” To be honest, she wasn’t sure why she was here.

Beth knew. Kendall dead. Cosima dying. Sarah could think of little else. She wanted to scream, to tear everything that she knew straight from her head. To go back to being Sarah Manning: con-artist, instead of Sarah Manning: clone. But that would help nobody. Her sisters needed her, and she needed them, now more than ever.
“Alison, I--I don’t know where we go from here.”
suburbanxclone said to detbethchilds:“I… really don’t know how to feel about this.”
Beth rubbed at her face in an irritated fashion, exhaling a heavy sigh that matched her expression. “Ali, we have to do it. We need some kind of safety net and it’s the only way we can get Cosima closer to us. I promise you, whatever money you put in will be paid back in full.”
❝ people are especially stupid today. i can’t talk to any more of them. ❞

Donnie poked his head up from the drawer he’d been rummaging through, his eyes meeting Alison’s for a brief moment before he shoved the dresser drawer shut and got to his feet, something tucked under his arm. He’d been feeling that way about people too lately, and the need for an escape, even for a night was something he desperately was craving. “You’re right. You’re absolutely positively right. And you know what we should do about it?” He paused for a moment, eyes glossing over with excitement, “Play hooky. Just the two of us. We can ask Sarah to bring Kira over for a playdate, that way there’s someone else besides Helena who can help watch the kids.” Now came the tricky part. His idea for their grand escape wasn’t something they’d done before, and there was a huge chance Alison would say no. “I think we should go to the country – it’s not even an hours drive out of Scarborough, we’ll be there before sunset,” he explained, his free hand reaching for the blanket under his arm. “Just the two of us, a cozy blanket, a field under the stars. We can talk about anything, or nothing…” Maybe now she considered him one of the stupid people she’d encountered today. “What do you say Ali?”

Her fingers slipped between Alison’s, a sigh sounding as she looked to their interlocked fingers. “Ali,” she began, unable to look at the other woman’s sad expression. “Donnie might not be your monitor. I mean you have a lot of close friends in the neighborhood right?”
