Ando arranged for the Emperor's sister Princess Kazu to marry into the shogun family, in an attempt to strengthen ties with the Imperial Court. October 20th, 1861. Princess Kazu's procession left Kyoto for Edo. The bridal procession passed through Fukaya post town and arrived in Edo on November 15th.
