The nun who was our guide invited us to visit Ganwolam to see performances on our second night at Sudeoksa. Ganwolam is a really small temple built on the unique island Ganwoldo. This island turns into land when the tide is low, so you can cross over by foot! It is such a special place, I would love to visit it again when I'm actually awake. I don't remember much from the performances because of the sleep deprivation... Btw! Koreans stack stones like that to pray or for it to grand wishes. A few more impressions of Sudeoksa Temple before we finally move on to something else from Summer School 😅 The lanterns hang in an archway of the temple and each one had a number. I was wondering if the total number of lanterns had a meaning but the nun who was our guide later told us that these lanterns contain wishes from those who made them.
