To me, they are VERY "this guy keeps volunteering to be my test subject but it's his weird way of flirting bc he's a freak" 💀 like Soldier doesn't know the meaning of the words "limit" or "pain" so he'd gladly offer himself because it's the best time to spend with Medic, laughing while quite literally having his guts rearranged. And I LOOOVE the idea of him trying to impress Medic and protecting him on the battlefield too, he will literally get lit on fire for that guy
