Xavier’s Mansion was safe from demons for the most part, they had never crossed onto their property, but they lurked outside. For Laura, that was more than enough to provoke her to attack. Their smell was unmistakably foul and she wanted the reassurance that if one of the students left the property, they wouldn’t be threatened by the demons that plagued all of New York City.
She could easily handle the threat alone, but after catching Rogue’s scent, she walked towards her friend without hesitation. “I made us cookies for our lunch, but there’s demons outside our gate and I would rather kill them before we enjoy ourselves. What do you say?” Rogue, she had no doubt, would agree to end the threat with her. At times, Rogue seemed frightened of her powers, but where the students were concerned, Laura knew that every single teacher and X-Men would risk their lives to protect them. “There’s only six that I can hear,” she added.
