If you want to wait and read Sky's bio in story form i suggest you not go further because of extreme spoilers.
Sky grew up in Sunset Valley. He was kind of a slacker growing up, or at least that's how a lot of people saw him. He usually spent his time with his friends bothering people and trying to see what things they could skateboard off of. When he was a junior in high school he met this girl. (haven't figured out a name yet. let's call her Diana.) After a long time of admiring her from far away he finally got the guts to ask her out. They dated for years after this.
Skylar loved her in every aspect of the word. In his eyes she could do no wrong. But as she got older she started to grow apart from him. He only noticed slightly but didn't think anything of it. I mean, even he sometimes wold see a good looking girl and fantasize about her. But he knew that didn't really matter because the one he was always going to be with was Diana.
When Skylar was around 23 he wanted to move out to Bridgeport. His parents were against it because of the increased vampire population there. Because you see, Sunset Valley wasn't the most welcoming town for the undead. And Skylar's parents definitely weren't head of the welcoming committee.
But even with his parent's disapproval he knew he would have a better chance of getting a job there. So he started looking at apartments. When he came back to Bridgeport he took his girl out to their favorite spot on a secluded part of a beach. He planned to ask her to move out to the city with him and propose to her. He only got as far as telling her about how he was looking for apartments when things went downhill. Long story short, before he could pop the question he found out she'd been cheating on him and wanted to break up.
The news broke him, literally. He moved to Bridgeport to get away from The Valley and from her but he fell into a depression, which he used alcohol to cope with. He'd constantly be found in bars drunk to the point of unconsciousness. Sometimes he'd take a cab and sometimes he'd risk it and drive himself. He's been arrested for DUIs about 3 times in total over the entire course of being human in Bridgeport.
By the time he was 24 his parents were extremely disappointed in him and he stopped contact since he got tired of hearing them say the same thing. Every job he'd get he'd get fired from because he'd come to work hungover. And by the time he was close to 25 he was close to being evicted.
But one night when he went to a bar there was a woman there. He treated the night like a normal night but she approached him. He didn't realize she was a vampire because she knew how to manipulate his mind. She made him think they were going back to his place for sex when really he was just her meal. But after seeing him she decided she wanted to keep him for herself and turned him.
After he turned she taught him everything he needed to know about what he'd become. And after he understood everything he was capable of, he left her and went on his own way.
