There is a summer weekend ahead of us.
Hey guys, I'm taking some days off from the blog and social media in general to enjoy my family visiting 💖. Keep staying safe and healthy ✨ No worries, I will be back! 👋
Sunset
Rivamika Summer Weekend prompt: Sunset Rivamika | WC 247 | Canonverse | Broken | ao3
His eyes followed the silhouette in the ship and every minute he felt her eyes on him. With the sunset the girl shined—no, it was her the one giving the sun its shine. The silly thought made him smile; the silly thought brought heaviness to his eyes.
The memory of her hand reaching at him with the oranges and yellows in the background would accompany him the rest of his life. Her reassuring and yet broken smile one day would soothe the pain.
She extended her hand, a common gesture, the thing she did in their missions when he arrived. Even if her captain didn’t need her help. It was a mission; they were a team.
His favorite soldier said nothing when his hand stayed still but her eyes… her eyes pierced his soul, trying to understand his decision. A simple nod of understanding didn’t change the weight of it. For so long one glance spoke volumes while training, in the middle of combat, and on those lonely nights, they spent talking. The oppression inside his chest grew tighter, bigger, unbearable. His hand ached, missing her touch.
“Be safe.”
The unison amused them and her fingers traced his face. His hand and lips taking and kissing her hand was his only goodbye.
She was meant to be his future. But they were soldiers. They had a mission and for the first time, it took them in a different path.
He stood there until the boat wasn’t.
