Bonus Day
Today was the second to last leadership team meeting of the summer because ZOMG WE'RE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL IN TWO WEEKS.
We spent the first part of our meeting on a Zoom call with the facilitators who will be joining us for professional development during our teacher workshop days. We went through the schedule and expectations in detail, got all our questions out, and I'm feeling good about it. Did I also roast The Principal for the number of tabs he had open on his laptop? Yes, yes I did.
After the Zoom call, we just had a few nuts and bolts things to take care of, so we actually wrapped up early. Then Dean 1 pulled me aside to let me know the newly hired assistant in his office has a service dog, as does one of our incoming students. He was giving me the heads up because I'm very allergic to dogs, and he wanted to make sure the plans they had in place to accommodate that were solid. It's not the first time there have been service dogs in the building, so they've figured this stuff out before, but I appreciated him double-checking.
There were boxes of supplies for my department in the main office, so I went and brought them to my office, and did a bit of unpacking and organizing. I also went to check out the two classrooms our new hires will be taking, and found one of them was in good shape. The other needs some work, so I'll probably go in again to straighten it up. Technically, I don't have to, but I don't want a new teacher coming into a room that's still got traces of its previous occupant. They should get a blank canvass to work with.
I hate math so much.
pre calc was a year of random stuff that only showed up again if I was bad at it.
ab calc at least fit together (it was still hard though)
now I'm taking bc calc and struggling to do my summer work cause everything they think i did last year (most people are coming from pre calc) had NOTHING to do with what i did last year and I've forgotten everything ;-;
i’ve got to write three like 1 pg long analysis of the books we were given for ap lit
setting and character analysis mmmmmm
I'm coming back home, can't wait to hear all of you!
