Seduction

The melancholy takes me

Like a mugger-

from behind.

What am I doing here?

Would it be easier if I wasn’t.

But the god invoking skyline

Seduces me into staying-

Cloud layers and spirals,

Rolling greens on mountains and farmland:

The majesty of nature.

One more day, every day,

Keeps me trying.

What am I doing here

slogging through

The quicksand of heartbreaks-

The meaninglessness of pain on the daily,

internal and external,

no end in sight except a magnification of loneliness into the forever and final end.

Why am I here?

Without a partner,

A legacy,

A purpose,

A reason?

Why am I here-

But for the privilege to breathe in a sunset,

A day break, a dawn, a yawning afternoon.

To Inhale one more time

A summer sigh,

A moonlight dance,

A lilac whimsy,

A delight of ripples,

An apple crisp of cold November water.

I’ll stay an extra day

any way I can

to have another chance

To turn and splash on my back and glide out into the expanse.

Immersed in elemental intimacy with Gaia;

Hearing seagulls,

Smelling wetness,

Drinking in the puffy white clouds checker boarding blue sky

-Worshipful, memorizing, adoring, rapturous-

Water all around me,

Sky above;

Nothing between me and bliss

but the illusion of separateness.

Why am I here?

I’m here to worship the mother

And be her essence incarnate

I’m here to be love.
