Alternative process photography is my playground. Cyanotypes, palladium, Salt, the list goes on and on. Their connecting thread is UV light exposure. The sun, of course keeps it coming, but it’s consistency and strength is hard to measure from one minute to the next. Each process has a different exposure time along with a million other factors, but I needed a UV light box for my sanity and late night printing sessions. The price tag was hard to swallow and looking at a grey metal box was not inspiring at all! Lucky enough, my dad is not only awesome, but an electrician and a bit of a carpenter. All I brought him were two beautiful knobs to get the project started. Super duper thankful for my Dad, and my very own sun-in-a-box. It is more beautiful and inspiring than I could have ever imagined.
