headcanon: anders is very messy. one of his justifications is that 'the cats like to sleep on the piles'.

YES. I figure he keeps the clinic clean/tidy esp. for health reasons, but I can imagine his personal living space being a damn cluttered mess. Folding clothes? Nah. Clothes go in piles that the cats sleep on. Cat hair is as much a fashion statement as feathers are. Making the bed? Pff, when Anders does sleep, you know he probably passes out on top of the covers with one boot still on and Hawke has to tuck him in later. (Worst part is, my Hawke’s just as bad, so they’re both just total and complete messes. They’re compatible in the best/worst possible way.)

I know you've written an au where Velanna goes to Kirkwall with Anders before. Do you have any headcanons for what she does after da2? Does she travel with Anders?

I haven’t planned it all out yet-- in the AU they’re pretty good friends (albeit with Velanna rolling her eyes at his antics a lot) so I can see her following him after Kirkwall, yeah. But that AU also is gonna have Act 3 go down completely differently from how it did in DA2, so there’s that as well.

I also have another AU w/ mehofkirkwall that we kinda ended up combining w/ the Velanna AU-- the things I’ve written so far for it can fit into the new AU just fine, with a few additions, so a lot of what I write from here on out will probably be stuff attached to this new AU. Basically we’re keeping the same general pre-DA2 story with Velanna and Anders (Velanna witnesses Anders’ & Justice’s merger and follows them to Kirkwall), but we also introduced new mage characters (which, lets be honest, is pretty predictable for me and Mok)-- two of the main ones are Anders’ old friends from the Ferelden Circle.

One is a Rivaini elf-blooded blood mage w/ seer training (her name is Asha) and the other is a spirit healer like Anders (his name is Arles). They were close friends w/ Anders and Karl both. Long story short, they both got sent to the Aeonar for stuff they did while trying to help Anders escape from solitary. They managed to escape with the help of Fade spirits--briefly: Asha merged with a spirit of valor, Arles with a spirit of compassion--and ended up going to Kirkwall (for a couple reasons-- the thin Veil and Karl). They followed Karl & the templars to the Chantry in Act 1 and met up unexpectedly with Anders--Karl still dies by Anders’ hand in this AU, so that’s a pretty tragic thing bc like...part of the story is that Asha and Arles learned about the cure for Tranquility at the Aeonar, but they were too late to save Karl. (Mok & I are just a little bit awful.)

Anyway, the good thing is that this AU is more of an uphill battle rather than canon DA2′s downward spiral, because now Anders has more support (two of his closest friends, who know him and his past well) and they’re each merged with a spirit, too, so Anders and Justice aren’t alone. Plus, Asha has some seer training so she actually has some insight re:spirit possession that can help. So that changes a lot, because now we have two spirit healers to help in the clinic, plus Asha and Velanna (who provides an elven perspective for Kirkwall’s mage resistance), and all of them can help out w/ the Mage Underground and stuff. So Anders is less isolated altogether. Mok and I are probably gonna change a lot of Act 3 and maybe Act 2 as well. Ah, did I mention we have four Hawkes? Marian & Alexis are the older twins, and Bethany & Carver both survive Lothering. And we have a mage child character who shows up later too because Mok and I are both weak for DA characters raising kids.

We don’t have a sideblog for this AU though bc we’re still fleshing it out and idk how much interest people on Tumblr have in it bc we haven’t really talked about it much on here yet?? But if people have an interest in it then maybe...?

But yeah anyway. I’m excited about it. c:  a lot of what I write about Velanna AU from here on out will probably also apply to the new AU (or actually be for the new AU).
