I learned that the author of Shangri-La Frontier have gone into some setting retcon length on the novels (from clearly saying that Pencil/Towa would never have feelings for Rakurou in canon story, having Kyogoku live in Kyoto, and making Akane a country bumpkin instead of the classmate of his little sister from the original setting he wrote) to make sure that Hizutome Rakurou aka Sunraku does not become a harem protagonist, and that's how I decided I can trust him with this story.
I also REALLY love it for him that if anyone has a harem in this story, it's the main protagonist's best male friend who played a girl character in the titular MMORPG and may be leaning to enby. where's my shanfro in game silvikei yuri
listen, the fact that Hizutome Rakurou is Just A Teenage Boy is so funny to me. not because he's playing some naked meme bird man on the online game, that's just plot relevant. not because he's really skilled at gaming and addicted to caffeine, every teens could've been doing that.
he's Just A Normal Teenage Boy who is secretly gaming friends with Top Earning Pro-Gamer of the Country (who also wanted his skills on his team) and the Top Charisma Model Every Girls Would Admire (who is the entire life goals of his little sister) and he's always thrown off by how Abnormal those rich people does and think and it's so funny to me. i mean. he's Just A Boy.

my oshi is obviously Natsuki (note that i also love how his canonical relationship have EVERY trope i like in shojo romance) but i think Ouri is also the funniest out of the F/ACE member like okay here's a prince with celeb background.... but he's also a selfish gorilla brat who have one-sided feeling for the MC Utage that will never come to be because he's eternally the 2nd place and even his fandom who loves him for his prince facade makes fun of it there's literally no other character that's as funny as him in all my years of reading shojo
