I was given the opportunity a little while ago to design my own swimwear to review on the blog. I was unsure whether to go for something for myself or for the Little A’s, however, I really struggle to find comfortable and flattering swimwear so decided to treat myself for a change!
Surania offer a bespoke, design your own swimwear service. It is very easy to design using their website, the only problem is narrowing down your selection!
I decided on a tankini as I find these to be the most flattering and easiest to wear. Once I had decided on this I had a choice of four different styles of tops and four different bottoms.
Next you need to decide on the fabric you would like for each part of the swimwear. You simply click on the part of the swimwear you wish to design first then browse through the many fabrics available. If you have a rough idea of colour and pattern then you can narrow the fabrics down, however, if like me you have no clue there are lots and lots of designs and colours to choose from!
Once you have decided on the fabrics it is time to enter your measurements. You can do this with just a few simple measurements, however, I decided to input all of my measurements to ensure the tankini fit perfectly.
Once this is done it is time to checkout. I ordered my tankini on the 7th June and it did not arrive until the 3rd July so this is definitely something to bear in mind. Make sure you order in plenty of time.
When the tankini arrived I was immediately impressed with the look and feel of the fabric. Although a little paler than the colours online, the design was just as beautiful and I was very pleased with my choices. I couldn’t wait to try it on!
When I did I was really pleased with the fit. It fits perfectly and I feel very secure in it to go swimming (and laze by the pool!). I have never found a swimming costume that fits so nicely before and one that looks so flattering. I feel incredibly confident in it and I love that it is unique, no one else will have exactly the same design as me.
It is obviously more expensive than just going into a store and buying a costume, however, being able to have a costume that fits perfectly and is unique is definitely worth paying that premium for. I am delighted with mine!
