Soft spot for apprentice subplot
By the way... I liked Ctimír.
I know, I know... The boy killed his sister in order to get initiated and had rather little space.
But I was very intrigued by him.
Felt like he got killed off too soon or quickly or something and just fizzled out. Like his potentiall deserved something more drawn out and personal.
Talented. Trying so hard. So trusting of Krug. The distance he sticks to, when confronted with his real father. Something about being reminiscent of deer in headlights. There was some sort of vulnerability and awakening might. Some sort of purity mixed with corruption. And like... Animals. And humble and quiet. Or at least he seemed so. Exact opposite of Svarun. Yet Krug speaks of how it is only question of time till he gets similarly willlful. Was he right? Was he wrong?
How did Krug manage to get him under his sway in the first place? That's what intrigues me very much. I wish Ďuro explored this more, though I understand he already had a lot on his hands with the main plot, which was quite packed with players and events.
And I liked how similar and different were Krug and Svarun. One could see the similarity in ambition and disregard and traitorous attitude and stuff.
