So out of boredom, I decided to draw Nightmare and Cross swapped with each other. Now I know that the great rouge already done it, but

She mostly did it out of fanservice and seems forgot the characters backstories. So I try to make it seem like their best stories for also swap a bit by giving them both different designs while inspired by them for their original counterparts. While trying to come up with a name for them. For Cross I decide to go with Tomb, because in his original story he was fused with a ghost, and remember when most cemeteries usually the deceased have a cross-shaped grave? Yeah. For Nightmare it was Crescent originally it was going to be circle, but then I changed my mind, 1, who will be scared of a person named circle? 2, it's usually what the moon is shaped when people think about the moon. And for the backstories...
Maybe Crescent was an actual prince/knight, born from a Queen who had a miscarriage with him and his brother and they were brought back to life by making a pact with a demon only for on 18th birthday the demon who had a deal guest to possess nightmare while the queen can keep Dream (maybe going to make a version of him and Chare swap and gave him another name). And only works for tomb so he can not only be free from the demon but also can be seen as a person back in his old AU.
And Tomb will be a fighting master who became jealous of his apprentice for getting the recognition that he deserved to the point he nearly killed his own apprentice only for him to get struck in a split second, and grew into who a restless spirit. Turning him into something that is not recognizable anymore.
Their personalities in a nutshell. (My opinion)
Crescent: The Ice King to strangers, a father / older brother figure two close friends and family.
Tomb: A ghost that resemble Bloody Mary in personality to strangers, a jerk with a heart of gold to allies/family.
