I'm gonna go ahead and post my statement here since I've been very vocal about this situation happening on Twitter and I wanted to post to other platforms since I've been interacting with and making Dandy's World fanart myself so I want all of my followers to be aware (and for those who followed for the DW content).
If you want a TLDR of the situation for those not in the know about what's been going down. Different accusations were levied against Qwel. It was recently exposed by Duck Adams and a few of Rox's victims that Qwel was lying about the extent of her knowledge on Rox and how long he had been grooming minors. Initially it was evidence that she had known two months prior to his exposure, then evidence had surfaced that she had known since 2021 when she was still working on Flavor Frenzy. I don't need to tell you how grossly negligent it is to keep a serial groomer and p*doph*le on her team and endangering the minors in her community. There's no excuses for her lack of action in my opinion. This plus recent accusations such as her recording a call where a grooming victim was venting about their abuse and then would use this recording to make fun of them to her friends + accusations of neglect and mistrestment towards her team.
I will no longer be playing Dandy's World. Unless the game miraculously is handed over to someone else who can take care of it and better equipped for the community, I can't in good conscious play the game and offer financial support to Qwel after the evidence shared from Rox's victims as well as ex-employees have been put out. Thought I'd go ahead and state this because I was starting to get into the fandom more and posting fanart of the characters. And although I still might make fanart or talk about the characters as the victims say they don't mind people liking the characters and making content for them as long as it doesn't support Qwel financially, I might take a break from posting fanart for the time being.
Just thought I'd go ahead and state this in case later down the line I end up posting fanart + or interacting in the fandom. Wanted people to know where I stand and what I'll do since I was just getting into the game weeks prior and posting fanart for it.
I will still be looking out for any statement made either from the Blushcrunch team or from Qwelver to see what has to be said about it.
