It’s time for a new Swatch Chart! 🎨
I made the 1st version of this chart back in April, but thanks to some newly released sets, there are now 345 colors of Ohuhu’s Honolulu [brush-tip] markers! 😱 So an update was in order.
I don’t know why Ohuhu still doesn’t offer a truly full set with EVERY color, but this Chart is designed to help you keep track of which ones you have & which ones you don’t!

Here's All My Links! ⭐️ ---------- Y'know Sparklers, I've made a LOT of Swatch Charts, but this is the most complicated one I've worked on to date by a fairly wide margin. Truly a "labor of love" as they call it. 🫠 By way of explanation: Earlier this year [in April], I made what was, at the time a full Swatch Chart of Ohuhu's Honolulu Markers. ["Honolulu" being Ohuhu's pet name for their alcohol-based markers with brush tips, as opposed to some other kinds of markers they sell.] This was necessary because while Ohuhu had [and still sells] a nice, big 216 set of the markers, that was still not every color available—There were [and still are] a few stragglers in smaller themed sets, and I wanted a place to keep track of all the colors I did own vs. the ones I didn't. Likewise, I modeled the Chart after the Copic company's own guide to the markers, which I've seen others make their own Copic "Tracker" Charts for and quite liked the layout of. Then, at the tail end of October, Ohuhu released a couple of new Pastel Honolulu sets, and just as we switched into November, they dropped a new 320 (!) Honolulu set—These combined added 106 new colors to their existing 242. [And for the record, if you filled out the previous version of this chart and don't want to swatch 242 markers again but still want to add the new colors, the .ZIP Download for that post has been updated with a new "Companion" Chart of just the 106 new colors.] So to be clear: While the 320 is the largest set of brush markers available from Ohuhu, it is STILL not the Complete selection of colors in one package! 😫 We are now up to 345 Colors Total + the Colorless Blender—if you count one color [GY163 Green Bice] that so far has only been released in an Old Skin Tone set Ohuhu no longer sells. If not, it's 344 + the blender, but I'm going to say 345 from here on out since it's technically correct whether you choose to count that oddball color or the blender as the 345th one. EDIT: As of 2/13/23, Ohuhu has made the "base" 320 Honolulu markers all available to buy as single markers on their website; The chart has been updated to reflect this. However, it should be noted that the 14/15 colors not in 320 set are not yet available as single markers. END EDIT Regardless, 340+ is a LOT of little boxes to try and fit on a single page. It's certainly not impossible since like I said, my original vision is similar to charts of Copic's full 358 [357 + blender] marker range, which still manage to fit on a single page and look like there's room left over. The thing is though that Ohuhu divides their markers up into more "Color Families" than Copic does, and the amount of colors in each family is very different...Not helped by the fact that Ohuhu doesn't have a set "system" for the Honolulu color codes [like RV180], so you have more than a few colors that really don't look like they belong in the family they've been assigned to, so that complicates splitting families up when the column of boxes gets too long. With that in mind, I will repeat something I said last time: "...[the] problem with any Swatch Chart over 50-70 or so colors (including my own): It gets difficult to have so many colors on the page while also still being useful, so I often have a "tracker" page like this, and then a multi-page set of charts that are a more comfortable size. The single tracker page gets filled in with solid color as I see fit, and then the multiple pages are gradients in some way, since that's what I find most useful. You can fill in the chart however you like, but I thought knowing how I handle mine might be helpful for anyone concerned about how small the boxes might print. Also worth noting: I know there's a lot of tiny text up here, and from an accessibility standpoint, I do apologize for that. I've done my best to balance legibility with functionality, but that's just the downside of squeezing so many swatches onto one page. The Copic charts I was taking notes from all have the same problem." To that end, to make room for the 106 new colors, I did still have to shrink certain elements and, as you can probably tell, really move things around. For example, last time the Greys got to be their own horizontal table, but this time they had to be squeezed into 2 columns. One small benefit of moving everything around is that now there should be a general "rainbow order" to the whole Chart—a color progression that feels more natural. It still won't be perfect once the chart is filled out because of the lack of logic I mentioned earlier in the numeric order Ohuhu puts the colors in, but the idea is still there. Let's see...I think the only other thing that's changed from last time that might not be as obvious is that there's a Color Family abbreviated as "MG." Last time, I dubbed this family "Muted Grey" because Ohuhu sorts them with the other greys on their own charts, but the actual color of the markers is far too blue for me to call them "Middle Greys." At the time, "Muted" was the only other adjective used to describe Grey that I could think of that made anything close to sense. This time, however, I wanted to see if I could come up with something that fit better. I landed on "Mineral Grey," since Minerals can come in a variety of colors, including blue. It's still not perfect, but it's the best I can do without knowing why Ohuhu decided they should be "MG" colors. 🤷♀️ And I know I probably sound a little harsh on Ohuhu by now, but I want to clarify my criticisms come from a genuine place—I love my Ohuhu markers and I'm thrilled they so far offer pretty great quality for much more affordable prices than the competition. I point these things out because I really think if Ohuhu were to take them to heart [which isn't impossible—they've shown they do actually listen to customer feedback even if it takes a while for the results to show], they'll be that much closer to surpassing their competition with a genuinely as-good-as if not an outright better product. I mean really, would I have spent the more-hours-than-I-bothered-to-count working on this chart if I genuinely didn't like the markers? I promise you, no, no I would not have. Sort of on that note, before I go, I will specify as I did last time that [as evidenced by this chart's existence] Ohuhu is one of few companies that updates their products fairly regularly. I'll continue to do my best to keep this chart up to date alongside the markers, but just try to be patient if I fall behind at some point—As long as I'm physically able, an update will come, but I'm only human and have other responsibilities outside of swatch charts, y'know? ----------
