wounded maine... that's... a very broad term but I implore you to do what you will with it (like headcanons?)

I feel the more Maine gets hurt the more pissed off he gets, it's like throwing rocks at a giant. Yeah he's in pain but the pain just fuels him to kill you faster and make it hurt more.

After the fighting is over and he's understandably the victor of the battle he's more of a 'slink off to lick my own wounds' sort of injured person. He doesn't like people fawning their attention over him and he doesn't like the medical bay either. He'll go if he knows he needs it but otherwise he keeps to himself when wounded.

Maine can be a little snippy when he's still healing around the MOI and people have learned over time to just give him space when the bandages are still fresh.

He'd sooner get frustrated over his wounds then he would get self-pitying. He takes each new scar and every new bruise as motivation to tear the enemy apart with that much vigor the next time he's in battle and it's this violent thought process that makes him a terrifying face to find in a battle.

If you hurt him in a fight and manage to get away with your life, you can bet your ass Maine is plotting your death with extreme prejudice. You don't wound Maine with deathly intentions and walk away from it twice.
