Original, hand painted Majolica ceramic ring dish. Hand made pottery jewelry holder. calla lilies for just $45.00 A small jewelry ring holder with my original signature design, hand painted calla lilies. Very feminine. Beautiful ceramic ring keeper or gift container for a romantic treasure. This jar stands about 5" high and is a triangular shaped vessel approximately less than 3" across. Made from a red clay earthenware clay body with a white tin glaze. Painted with a series of stains and copper for color. Entirely hand built. Majolica, to me, in definition is a white tin glaze over a red earthen ware clay body. I fell in love with this process because it allowed me to paint again. I have been able to produce many pieces in this style and the calla lilies are a flower that I have included in many of my pieces. Each piece of pottery is made in my front porch studio. Though small I make it work, but I make in stages, small batches. I fill a bisque kiln with green ware, raw dried clay. Once the greenware has gone through a bisque fire and removed from kiln the studio is cleaned up as I prepare to hand dip each piece. I can only dip as many as I have room for, so I may dip a part of the bisque ware at the time and as pieces are finished with painting and put in kiln in wait for the glaze fire, I will then glaze more. When the kiln is full I glaze fire this takes approximately 10 hours plus time to cool, because I like to warm up everything for about 6 hours before raising the temps. I use materials that are food safe, you may want to hand wash as I cannot guarantee their outcome in a dish washer.
