Feeling fancy with today’s studies.
Also, so begins my foray into feet studies-- which weren’t as scary as I had built them up to them to be.

Back to daily studies with George Bellows. Went a little over the hour mark (1.5!) but I’m glad to be back on track. The colors on this painting are so good!!! I wish I did this painting more justice but I’m just happy to have learned from it. Maybe I’ll come back to it in the future and see what else I can absorb from it.
This was supposed to be a quick warmup... Only I started listening to My Favorite Murder and the episode was especially intense. Next thing I knew, it was an hour and a half later and I hadn’t even begun the actual task I had set out to do.
I’ve been studying constructive head drawing on NMA and as wonky as this is, it was pretty cool making this portrait now that I’m aware of planes of the face and skull structure. Pretty cool.
