The echoing sound of an occurrence for which she had not witnessed rewound itself in the depths of the girls mind, as she made her way into the hospitals doors, and just ran to where he lay.

This guilt was swallowing her whole. Elizabeth couldn't believed what had happened. She had merely skipped school that day due to a weekend bug she had caught, and had been at home resting, when someone from the hospital had called her and told her what had become of her friend. Having always been strong when it came to horrors like this, keeping a cool demeanor when she'd felt it necessary for other's sakes, Elizabeth knew today was going to be different. She wouldn't be able to swallow back the tears, especially when she bore witness to Alois' figure.

Nearly colliding into a nurse that had been carrying a food tray for an awaiting patient, the blonde soon found the room that had claimed her friend for company, and burst in despite not knocking or requesting permission. And without even thinking twice, her arms were soon wrapped around the boy, head buried deep into his neck, making sure she didn't hurt him as she held on to him for dear life.

"My god Alois!" She cried out, body quivering ever so slightly as she held on to him. "I-I'm sorry!"

Her hand froze at the doorknob, her back facing him. Her heart dropped in her stomach at his words as she glanced over her shoulder. It tore her apart to hear him like this, to see him like this. He sounded frightened, like he was about to cry. She swiftly made her way towards the bed, lifting the blankets and crawling under. She scooted closer to the blonde boy, wrapping an arm around him and pulling him to her. She gently ran a hand through his hair, trying to steady his shaking body. 

"It’s okay, Alois. I’m here."

The humming that had once been entrapped in the countess' lips ceased, her frame pausing mid-action, as she allowed such words to register.

Elizabeth also tried to recognize the voice that the statement had belonged to. Although she had only heard it once in her life, she knew just who it was, and felt herself stiffen more.

Ciel would have been so upset had he known that Elizabeth was about to talk to him.

"Why, Lord Trancy, what a charming compliment. It is one that I, of all girl's, do not deserve."

They shared the locker room when changing for gym glass, and over the course of the last few weeks, the ashen-haired youth had noticed the faint, criss-cross marks along Alois' back. No one else ever said anything. Most of them probably didn't even notice. Hell, Ciel probably would have noticed either if they hadn't been assigned as gym partners.

               Ｎot really thinking, Ciel reached out and ran a finger along the length of one of the scars before pulling his hand back quickly once he'd realized what he was doing.He quickly turned away and continued dressing like it wasn't him that had done it, but he was the only one within arms reach of the blond.
