so i read that jmo isn't returning to ouat. i haven't watch the show in ages, do you know how her character left the show? did she just leave or did she get killed off? i've avoided all the show's tags because of cs so i don't have a clue. do you think swan queen fandom will still be around in terms of fan fiction?

I haven’t watched the show since early season 3 myself so I get my info from my ever hopeful and somewhat masochistic friends who still watch. But yes JMo seems to have confirmed that she will only be in one episode in the probable season 7. I assume how Emma Swan leaves will be done in that episode, but I have no idea what will happen.

And i firmly believe that Swan Queen will be around for a long time to come in fanfic and fanart and will continue to gather newcomers as time progresses because it is a fandom indeed a community that has already been tempered into steel by the furnace of hatred and abuse from the creators and other fandoms alike and we have gone from strength to strength in quality and quantity of fan created works.

Because we have had to operate so diametrically opposed to any canon material (other than all the queer baiting or trope playing that wardrobe, lighting, directing, or even some actors have done to give us visual clues and treats.) we have a treasure trove of FANON that will keep us going for a long time to come.

I Am Swen

1) I am Swen (And I’m the one with the hat on, heh) Hey kidlets, well here I am ‘swanning’ (you should not pardon the pun, heh) into another fandom, and I’m late for the party yet again. Long time major Xenite. The XV stands for Xenavirgin (name totally Lucy Lawless’ fault.) or if you really must just plain Lara, I will in fact answer to all three. *grin*

I’m a Canuck living as an expat in England for the past 30 years (this July actually). I’ve been married three times (Commitment Ceremony/Civil Partnership/ Chuppah blessing in Synagogue)…all to the same wonderful woman, my Lady Wife Jane (the brunette in the picture above. Heheh) We’ve been together for 23 wonderful years, lucky me. My degrees are in Egyptology and Ancient History and Egyptian Archaeology and I’ve lectured in these areas for the past 20 years. I’m also a teacher doing workshops on the ancient world for primary schools and am currently writing a number of children’s books in collaboration with a couple of incredibly talented artist friends of mine, watch this space heh.

Erm, I was adopted at birth, my adoptive mother had three boys and didn’t want to take any more chances, she wanted to see the goods first. (I so have an image of her peeking in my nappy when they handed me over…just to be sure. lol) I love to laugh and make others laugh and I’m a major baker of all sorts of goodies. One year I did a mass bake up and sent goodies to J/7 friends on seven continents and in 12 different countries. (See Curvypragmatist and Violetscented for ratings on my baking skills…they might be sober by now after the last batch of Baileys/Couintreau dark choclate muffins. ) Yup, well that’s scratched the surface anywho, *grin*.

2) I love Swan Queen

After Xena I got into the Voyager Janeway/7 fandom and met more wonderful peeps following them reluctantly at first and then with total abandon into the world of Devil Wears Prada and more specifically the wonderful Mirandyness therein, before following several folk I know and admire from these fandoms into the OUaT neighbourhood.

Swan Queen was totally obvious to me from episode one (Hmm the broody, evilish brunette and feisty, goody blonde definitely a trope I knew well, heheh) As the first season unfolded and the back stories filled in, SQ was such an obvious direction to fulfill the a “Fairy Tale with a Difference” hype the show was being sold on. And I was totally convinced that Lana and Jen were deliberately playing to that end game scenario. I had high hopes that 20 years after Xena, post L Word and with ABC being the home of the Fosters, we would be in for a wonderfully developing tale of a white knight and Queen that were both women and that could both fulfill the criteria for either role. Alas alack things began to slip as I recognised the signs of the token Het credentials scramble slip in with Hook at the start of season 2. Toward the end of season 2 I was ttally done with watching the show I just wasn’t about to invest too much of my time watching the decline of something that had been so promising. I’ve only watched SQ clips, and music vids since then they’re so much more fulfilling.

I loved Regina and Emma as a pairing too much to just let it go and started to read some fics by writers I knew and admired from previous fandoms, and of course I enjoyed the amazing artwork and manipping in the SQ community. For me, that has been enough and I’ve enjoyed SQ through these media since then. I find concentrating on the SQ fandom rather than the general OUaT fandom is far more to my taste.

3) I love Swen I’m massively impressed with a large number of the Swen fandom for their passion and dedication and for their incredible talent across a wide range of media. I admit I tend to sit on the side lines rather than get right into the thick of things as I might have done in the past. That said, I have been pleased and grateful to expand my understanding of current issues within the entertainment world and social media through several interesting and informative posts within the Swen community.

One thing I really like about Swen is how they celebrate each other. Now my other fandoms do that to a degree, we all love our artists and writers and send reviews and recs to each other and we all have our favourite “giants” in the fandom, but in Swen this is so wonderfully front and centre. I’m particularly put in mind here of the huge number of music vids out there that are actually rifs not on the show, but on specific SQ fanfics. It’s marvellous really.

I also owe Swen for kickstarting my own writing muse after a long and problematic stagnation. It hasn’t just been inspiration for some SQ fics but has also helped me in the other fandoms I write for. The talent in Swen is truly mindbogglingly wonderful and were I to list all those amazing peeps, this post would end up being dissertation length, so I’ll just say a grateful Huggles of tonnes to Absedarian for leaving the trail of yummy manips for me to find my way to another great fandom and also to Chillyflame for my stumbling into SQ fanfic goodness.

Some SWEN help Please

Hey thre kidlets.

I’ve had an idea for an AU story and I’m quite excited about it, but I need some help with a very central detail and I’m hoping you wonderful peeps can oblige.

I need to get hold of some good and detailed screencaps of the Evil Queen’s castle, exterior and interior and of Snow White’s castle.

I need them so I can get some details of them correct and for inspiration. So I’d appreciate links to Tumblrs or other places that have screencaps of the castles.

I'll go back watching Ouat only if Robin Hood disappear. Till then, I'm done with that show. Sorry not sorry. I don't even care about SQ being canon, I just want him gone cause he's useless, stupid and totally wrong for Regina.
