The joy of literary imagination lies in its ability to bring us beyond physical borders, and spark meaningful conversations about living in an increasingly interconnected world. This year’s Singapore Writers Festival just closed today. #throwback to a wonderful evening at its opening which kicked off with performances by local talents such as singer-songwriter Kelvin Tan, and dikir barat groups 22 Andir Purba and Pak Nobat Pulau Tiga. I also had the opportunity to meet pioneering poet/writer and Cultural Medallion recipient Mr Yeng Pway Ngon (英培安), a literary stalwart whose thought-provoking works are well loved by many readers in Singapore and beyond. SWF has grown to become a distinctive festival that reflects Singapore’s multicultural identity, with a rich and diverse array of literary offerings for audiences. I hope that more Singaporeans will continue to be inspired by the literary arts to think out of the box, and explore the endless possibilities that are bounded only by our imagination. #SWFJie #SWF2018 #sgwritersfest https://www.instagram.com/p/BqC4b9YhAzB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=6f1t9nt7uh50
