He just enjoyed jesting with friendly faces: even if he did not have any sort of companionship with the man, the way Athena spoke of him had him in Wright's good graces, and more.

Although his tone was not teasing, one could take it that way as he firsthand saw in court the prosecutor's propensity at not asking anyone for assistance; it was heartwarming to see, although Phoenix figured expressing it directly would not be quite welcomed (something in the water for prosecutors and expressing feelings.) "What's the secret that make it so special? It's not the only place with fresh soba~. What do you suggest on their menu?" Atop of this, the attorney knew this was probably way more than just because of the noodles. Every party here knew, but let's play along to save the samurai some embarrassment.

"Wait—Kazuma..!" "BLackQUiLl, oVEr HEeeeEre~!"

Kazuma locked his arm around Ryuunosuke's, positively dragging his partner as he happily ran across the large square walkway at the intersection corner when stepping out of the metro station, amidst the street performance nearby and the food trucks being in prep mode. The cold morning wind warming up by the boastful presence; he was thankful the man was so tall.

Contrasting to their usual uniform attire, the hachimaki wearer was sporting a black leather jacket atop his turtleneck where a thin, silver chain shone to complement the few rings at his fingers. His red plaid shirt tied around his waist giving a pop of color atop the black skinny jeans and black derby shoes. His partner, on the other hand, wore a grey blue jacket, from which the chain of a silver pocketwatch could be seen inside the pocket, atop of a simple light grey hoodie and brown plaid undershirt which collar and bottom were peeking out. His dark blue jeans were hazardly tucked inside his maroon dress boots. He had no accessories so to speak—except that a bit uncharacteriscally, he bore a small, fresh red flower tucked near his temple.

"Woah, I thought we'd be cordial and get there earlier, but guess we all got the same idea, how cordial~. Nice, that means we can get some hot drinks before the morning lines get too long, wahoo~! Maybe grab the limited seasonal menu before it runs out, lucky~!" "Kazuma—!" Ryuunosuke slightly whined at his friend's embarassing display which constrasted the more tired morning crowd (it was definitely attracting some attention.) The young man politely bowed to the other two, managing to wiggle his arm out of the samurai's grasp for a proper one. "I heard about you from Kazuma, but I do not think we had properly met. It is nice to meet you, I am Naruhodo Ryuunosuke. I am an English major at Yumei univer—ack!"

"You're so cute, being all polite, partner!" Kazuma had ruffled Ryuunosuke's hair, bowing gently himself. "Blackquill, Winner, thank you for having us~! What are you guys drinking? Ryuunosuke said he'd pay as first outing courtesy, so feel free to get as much extra toppings as you want~! We could grab something and hit the arcade, I heard they just renewed the prizes~!" "Wait—what—!"

"W-wait... .... ... what?!"

For a split moment he dared not ask further, but whatever cat he had not identified was out of the bag(????) and Phoenix was utterly confused. How many times did Simon happened to see them—he did not get this from that short conversation he had witnessed just now and the Phantom trial right... the latter was an entirely professional setting afterall?!

For all his qualities, Phoenix's self-awareness towards his relationship with Edgeworth was not one. (A pattern, really.)

Right now, he felt like Simon had just attached him by the neck and was dragging him onto the ground atop of this was also about his superior: was this the man's merciless psychology skills at play?!

"Underlying??? Tension??? Denial?! I mean—I know Edgeworth is not the most open person about his feelings, but his actions speak louder than words that we are good friends... isn't that laying it on a bit thick?!"

"Thank you, Blackquill! Uh-huh~!" Kazuma stood with pride, sparkling at seeing someone acknowledging his partner.

"He does not look like it at all, but this guy is amazing! He always surprises me! He may not have that much vocabulary, but he makes it up by being surprisingly dazzling at what he does, it's so hard to keep your eyes off him, that's incredible! He truly is special!"

Little did Kazuma know that he might actually be biased.

Klavier laughs quietly, pressing a little more firmly against Simon's side before righting himself. "Not at all!" He says rather cheerfully. "'specially not now, with you…wanderin around, free as a bird."

He hums to himself, and when he speaks again it's with an airy tone, so not spoken as though he is looking down on himself. "Wonder if ya thought I was worth it, tho. Since…we had tha' rocky start." He closes his eyes, head tilted a little as his brain muddles through a series of thoughts. "But…yaknow, 's been nice. Real nice. Gettin' ta know you better an such. Spendin' time together."

This is when he tips over a bit to the side, head resting on Simon's shoulder lightly as a pleasant smile appears on his face. "Mmmm. Good pillow." He's quiet, before asking with a very faint intensity, "D'ya like it when…I get—yaknow. Clingy. Not—not clingy but. Touchy-feely?"

It occurs to Klavier one day as he thinks over what things he'd like to do for Simon, so he sets about remedying it as fast as he can.

"I realized that I don't know your favorite foods." He says it as nonchalantly as possible, but Simon can likely glean the intention behind the comment. "Not that you have to tell me…but I'd like to know. For science."

It is not for science. He just feels like cooking something special for Simon.
