With the Devils’ season finished it meant your boyfriend could spend time at home with you and your newborn daughter. The little girl was 2 weeks old, and you had spent the weeks tucked in bed with your mother-in-law waiting on you, hand and foot. You were allowed to leave the bed. If it wasn’t Ellen, it was one of the other girlfriends or wives you were close with from the team. They had supported you well while Jack had been finishing the rest of the season.
“Are you sure you want the team to come over?” Jack asked for the millionth time as you got dressed in something other than pyjamas. “We can always reschedule if you’re not feeling up to it.”
You rolled your eyes at Jack’s protectiveness but wasn’t surprised. He was holding your baby girl against his bare chest as you changed. He swayed side to side, pressing a kiss to her head. The two of you stand and admire your baby when you finish getting dressed. She looked so much like you but with Jack’s eyes and a hint of curls on her head. Just like her daddy.
“I want to see my niece,” a voice spoke up coming up the stairs. Luke poked his head in and lit up seeing Jack hold his niece. He immediately held out his arms as he closed in on Jack. “Give her here.”
Jack relented after Luke didn’t take no for an answer. He passed Luke the bub before he moved to hug you once more. The man looked into the mirror and admired you, swaying gently so as to not hurt you.
“I’m out,” Luke chuckles when the two of you hug, taking the bub downstairs to leave you alone for a moment.
The pair of you took a moment to yourself. Jack smiles and twirls you slowly to admire the outfit. Seeing you thrive as a mother was making him love you so much more. The quiet moment between you was broken by the doorbell. You could hear the bell ring through the house.
“Some of your guests are here,” Ellen smiles as she spies you two coming down the stairs.
Jack was so excited to introduce his gorgeous girl to his favourite people in the world. Luke made sure to stay hidden from the team so as to not ruin you and Jack’s moment. Luke passed your little girl back to Jack before going into the lounge room first where the team was gathered. You and your little family took a moment before stepping into the view.
“Looking hot mama,” Nico grinned, going to hug you.
“Thanks Cap,” You smile, accepting the hug.
Nico turned to his best friend and awed when he saw your baby up close. She was the perfect mix of the two of you if you ask him. The cute little New Jersey Devils jumpsuit was the perfect outfit to introduce her to the team.
Jack grinned, passing the babe to Nico, the guy who took him under his wing when he was first drafted, “It’s only fair the captain holds her first.”
“What’s her name? You didn’t tell us,” Dawson asks from his spot on the couch.
“Nicola,” Jack reveals with a big grin, “Nicola Ellen Hughes. Named after my best friend who took me under his wing when I was drafted first to New Jersey just like him.”

Summer. A time when you spent days at the Lake House with your family. You and your brothers, all together under one roof, much to the horror of your parents. It was a place where you brought heaps of friends to celebrate the offseason, spending the days on the lake and drinking until sunrise.
This year, your parents decided to let the four of you have the house to yourselves, allowing you and your siblings to invite friends to enjoy the free time. You, of course, invited your best friend, knowing the summer could only get better with her by your side. It also meant you two could get up to a little mischief.
Each of your brothers invited some teammates, past and present. Luke brought some UMich boys: Dylan, Mackie, Ethan, and Mark. Jack, of course, had some of the NTDP boys coming, who were also your friends: Trevor, Alex, Cole, Matt, and Patrick. Quinn mainly invited some of his Canucks teammates: Petey, Brock, and Kuzy.
Your boyfriend was among the hockey players invited to the Lake House this summer. Not that any of your brothers knew that. God, they’d all kill you. Maybe not Quinn, but especially Jack if he found out who you had been dating, let alone dating one of his best friends for the last year… Yikes.
You and your best friend, Ella, were the first to reach the Lake House. The boys were due to arrive over the next couple of days, but for now, the two of you could go shopping for a heap of food for the next couple of weeks. Oh, and alcohol. Can’t forget that. The boys would kill you.
“How many people are going to be staying here?” Ella asked as you packed the food away.
“Uh, like 15 of us, give or take,” you replied.
“And Cole is one of them,” Ella smirked, throwing a bag of chips at you. She was one of the few people, besides Cole’s teammates, who knew.
“Yes, he is arriving tomorrow. Hopefully before Jack and Luke.”
“So you can smooch,” Ella teased.
That night, the two of you shared a pizza and some drinks while sitting around the fire pit, gossiping about the year you both had had in Michigan. You didn’t know how you managed to get the fire started. July 4th was this weekend, so plans about the weekend also slipped into the conversation.
The backdoor opened, interrupting the two of you who weren’t expecting any company. There stood Cole with a huge grin on his face, his arms outstretched, knowing you would sprint to him. It happened many times when he’d pick you up at Montreal-Pierre airport. Ever the romantic, the two of you were.
“Cole!” You sprinted from the pit to the patio, throwing yourself at your boyfriend. His arms wrapped tightly around you.
“Hey baby,” Cole chuckled, holding you close. “I’ve missed you.”
After he had dumped his bags in his, Jack, and Trevor’s room, Cole joined you to snuggle by the fire. The two of you shared a fluffy blanket, and the three of you caught up. Ella had joined you on a couple of trips to Montreal because you needed a cover story. You couldn’t just tell your brothers the truth about all the trips. ‘Hey Jack, you know how I keep going to Montreal every couple of months? Well, it’s to see your best friend, who is my boyfriend.’ God, you could just imagine Jack’s reaction.
It was special waking up next to Cole that morning, taking in the body heat that wrapped around you. But the moment didn’t last long. You could hear the front doors opening and the voices of your youngest brothers. Shit. That woke you up quickly. They were way earlier than any of you expected.
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.” Cole was too sleepy to realise who the voices belonged to. Instead, you had to shove him out of the bed. The boy groaned when he landed on the cold wood floor.
“Cole, wake the fuck up. Jack and Luke are here.”
“What?!”
“They’re here early, Cole. Get the fuck out.”
That had him scrambling for his shirt and pants, and his other things, sneaking back to his and the boys' room before Jack could make his way to it. You pretended to sleep a little more before they came to get you out of bed like they loved to do.
“What’s all the noise for?” you groaned as you walked into the hall where Jack and Cole were hugging. You rolled your eyes at your brother’s over-dramatic antics and moved to the kitchen, making sure to call out behind you. “Good to know the bromance can survive being on different teams.”
“Good morning to you too,” Jack retorted.
The day continued, filled with looks shared between you and Cole, often over your brother’s shoulder. The day was spent on the boat with a small group, just hanging out and jumping on and off the boat in the middle of the lake. As the sun set, you found yourself around the fire pit once more with a few more people than the night before. Cole sat on the other side of the fire beside Jack.
“So, sis, we’ve heard you’ve got a boyfriend?” Jack grinned at you.
“What, no?” you lied, your eyes flicking to Cole for only a split second.
Jack chuckled, “Mum accidentally let slip you had a boyfriend. You can’t lie to us now.”
“Fine, I do.”
“How did you meet him?” Luke asked.
You thought about it for a split second. How do you lie and make sure no one connects the dots? “Here in Michigan.”
“Oh nice, so you met him at college,” Jack assumed.
Luke’s eyes focused on you. He was at UMich with you and didn’t remember you ever being with a guy. “At college?”
“Uh yeah?”
“What class did you meet in?” Luke continued.
“Art history,” you lied.
Luke didn’t believe you. The look on his face screamed skepticism. As the photographer for the hockey team, you hung out with him and the team nearly all the time. He knew you wouldn’t have had time for a relationship during college.
“How was your last trip to Montreal?” Jack asked, knowing you and Ella had spent a week in Canada after officially finishing college.
“It was great,” you grinned, “We had a blast.”
“Did you two catch up?” Luke asked, turning to Cole.
Now you could lie, but your poor sweet innocent boyfriend couldn’t. He lost every game of poker. “Yeah, we caught up for dinner, of course.”
“That’s good,” Luke muttered, watching Cole closely. “Glad to know she had a good tour guide.”
“He’s a great tour guide,” you interjected.
Jack stayed oblivious, but Luke’s eyes flicked between you and Cole. He did it for a solid minute before realisation crossed his face. You stood up and grabbed Luke’s arm, pulling him behind you.
“Luke, I need help getting the s'mores ingredients,” you said as you manhandled your tallest brother.
You pulled him into the kitchen and shoved him in, making sure to double-check that Jack didn’t follow you. Cole watched as you left, wanting to follow but knowing it would be suspicious.
“You keep it quiet,” you hissed at your baby brother.
“You and Caufield, seriously? How long have you two been seeing each other?”
“You can say we’re dating.”
“Gross,” Luke gagged.
“Grow up,” you retorted, poking your tongue out at him.
“No,” he sassed.
“To answer your question, we’ve been dating for nearly a year,” you told him, making him sigh once more.
“And that’s why you’ve been going to Montreal? Ella covers for you?”
“Ella actually comes to Montreal with me. But she has family there she sees,” you admitted.
Luke stayed quiet for a moment before nodding. He knew Cole and what he was like as a person. “Are you happy with Cole?”
At that very moment, Jack thought it was a great idea to step into the kitchen with Cole rushing in behind him. “Please say I misheard that,” Jack begged.
“Uh…”
“You didn’t,” Luke nodded, giving a pointed look at Cole standing behind Jack.
Jack turned to his best friend, “You’re dating my sister?!”
“About that,” Cole muttered, unsure of how to handle your brother. “Yes, I am. Our one year is coming up, actually.”
“Yeah, this weekend,” you admitted.
“So you guys got together on July 4th last year?!” Jack yelled.
At this time, Quinn finally arrived with Petey, Brock, and Kuzy in tow. Ella joined as well, wanting to double-check the arguing didn’t get physical between the siblings. She had seen them go crazy on each other before.
“What the hell is going on here?” Quinn asked, looking around the kitchen.
Jack pointed to where you and Cole were standing together and exclaimed, “These two are dating. For like a year!”
“Yeah? I know?”
“So what? Quinn got to know?” Luke frowned.
“How did you know?” you asked Quinn.
Quinn chuckled, “There are only so many times you can go to Montreal without an ulterior motive. It was either Cole or Juraj.”
“Hey!”
“Sorry Cole,” Quinn laughed.
The kitchen was quiet for a moment. The other Canucks and Ella stepped out, leaving the Hughes siblings and Cole alone. You stood next to Cole nervously, hand in hand. Quinn knew and was playing mediator now. Luke was upset about not being told, but Jack… Jack seemed pissed off. Which, to be fair, was what you expected. Then, after a moment, Jack broke the silence.
“Oh my god, that means we’re going to be brothers!”

Tonight was the annual New Jersey Devils Gala, and you were lucky enough not to have to work the event. As the photographer for the team, you would usually be asked to work nights such as these. But thankfully, your boss decided you could have the night off as it was your first gala since joining the organisation. Enjoy the gala with the team, staff and other rich people involved.
Both of your younger brothers were ecstatic that you got to accompany them to the gala. Luke especially was, as it was his first time going to the annual event, and he wasn’t exactly a people person. Having two of his older siblings with him definitely will help. And Jack, well, he always loves having his older sister around.
The pair had taken you shopping for a dress and ensured you didn’t pay a cent for the dress or any of the accessories you had chosen. Jack even got his girlfriend, Sam, to book you and herself for a spa day. Which would consist of a massage, nails, hair, and make-up together to have a girls' day and prepare for the event.
The two of you spent the day getting ready for the gala. It was the first time you had also spent the full day with Sam without Jack there. Sure, you had gone shopping together a couple times for a couple of things but never fora whole day. You two were excited to have some time to yourself.
“We are looking hot,” You grin as you put in your earrings.
“That we do,” Sam grinned, coming up beside you and side hugging you.
The boys were waiting for you two in the living room of your and Luke’s apartment. Jack cheered as Sam stepped out and then louder when you stepped out. It was rare for him or anyone from your family to see you dressed up. Especially in dresses.
As a Devils' photographer, you often wore jeans and some variation of Devils merchandise. Your hair was usually in a bun or hair claw. Nothing crazy, just comfortable clothes as you ran around the arena, snapping up as many pictures as you could.
“You look stunning, sis,” Jack smiles, complimenting you as Luke twirled you to show off your dress.
Luke laughed as you giggled and spun around. He loved watching you be the happy go-lucky girl he remembered from when you were kids. During your teenage years, you were quieter, much like your twin. It was nice to see you coming out of your shell since coming to Jersey with him.
“I think Hisch, Timo and Bratt are in the lobby waiting for us,” Jack announced as he read a message he had received.
The group of four made their way downstairs, where they met the trio in the lobby, chatting. All of them were dressed in suits, and their hair was slick and well-styled. Nico smiled when he noticed you walking in beside Luke. You only came up to his shoulder, and that was while wearing heels.
“Hey Nico,” You grin, leaning forward to hug the captain.
“Hey,” The brunette whispers into your ear.
You hug the other boys as well, sharing hellos and exchanging compliments. The limo that would take them over to the hotel pulled up outside, and the group climbed in. Nico held his hand and helped you slide in beside Luke before following suit. You were sandwiched between your youngest brother and the team Captain.
“How was the pamper day?” Nico asks.
“It was great,” You smile, “Sammy and I loved it. Best day I’ve had in a good while.”
Nico chuckled, “Well, hopefully we can keep it going for the night then.”
“Be sure to save me a dance then.”
When you pulled up for the event, you and Nico were on the side to come out last. As soon as the door opened, the noise from fans and media became louder. You felt the nerves kick in once more. Reminding you once more how alike you are with Quinn. And how much Luke was like the two of you.
“You okay?” Nico asks as he notices you stiffening.
You looked out the door as Luke was climbing out. You were a behind-the-scenes person, not one to be parading in front of the fans and media. There were way too many people out there for your liking.
“Hey,” Nico whispers, pulling you from your thoughts, “I’ll be there. Jack and Luke will be there. Sammy’s first gala as well. We’re there to back you up.”
“I don’t think–”
“Yes, you can,” Nico cuts you off gently.
You take a deep breath and shuffle along the seat. Your mind reeling, imagining everything that could come from the public appearance. Nico somehow slips over you, so he will step out first. His hand slips into yours as he slowly climbs out. The group watched as you and Nico stepped out. He let you step up beside your brothers as his hand hovered on your lower back. Making sure to guide you around, a safe blanket to remind you that you weren’t alone.
The group made their way down the carpet, posing for pictures. You were either tucked into Nico’s side or with Luke. Soon, you were joining the other players and staff inside the ballroom of this hotel. You guys made the rounds, greeting sponsors, staff and teammates.
“Hey!” Reanne grinned when you and the group greeted her and Curtis.
“Hey, how are you?”
“I’m good,” The blonde replied. “A night with no kids is great.”
After the usual spiel of speeches and guest speakers, the music was turned up. It didn’t take long until the team and partners could be found on the dance floor. You danced with Nico and the group, laughing and having fun.
“I didn’t tell you earlier, but you look absolutely stunning,” Nico whispers.
A blush covered your cheeks as the song changed from the upbeat Pitbull song to ‘The Night We Met’ by Lord Huron. A song you’ve come to love since it went viral on TikTok. Everyone paired up to slow dance. Nico turned to you and slipped his arms around your waist. Your arms went around his neck.
“Hands off my sisters’ ass,” Luke hisses at his captain as he and what looked to be a sponsor’s daughter danced by.
Nico’s hands made sure to slide further up your lower back. “Protective brother much.”
“They all are,” You reply, “even if these two are younger than me.”
“They just love you.”
More alcohol was consumed, more dances spent on the dance floor. The group enjoyed themselves but were careful not to take it too far at a team fundraiser. Nico was tired and so were you so, without telling your brothers, the two of you snuck out of the event. As you were in the uber you made sure to at least sling Jack a message, so they didn’t send out a search party.
Nico slid his coat jacket over your shoulders after you left the Uber. Making sure you were warm as you guys headed up to your apartment. The conversation flowed until you reached your door.
“Thank you for the fun night,” You mumble as you look up to Nico.
Nico grinned, tucking the stray piece of hair behind your ear. “I had a great night with you.”
The two of you stood before the door, admiring each other before you finally decided to do what you wanted to do since you met your brother’s captain. You pressed your lips to his. Hoping that he felt the same. Nico’s hand cradled your cheek, and he kissed you back.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for ages,” Nico mutters against your lips.
“Me too.”
Nico leant forward and kissed you again. Neither of you paid attention to your surroundings, meaning you missed the ding of the elevator and the footsteps echoing down the hallway towards where the two of you stood.
“What the fuck?”
You pulled away as quickly as possible when you heard Jack’s voice. Nico and you were quick to turn to where Jack, Sammy and Luke were coming towards you. Jack was smirking, and Luke was shocked.

Since your brother’s best friend now lived in Vancouver, you were getting out more, getting dragged around the city for a meal, sightseeing and to hockey games. And today was no different. Instead of letting you catch up with your work, which you had told him multiple times, Anthony had arrived at yours unannounced and pulled you from your comfy spot on the couch with your laptop.
“Tito, what are you doing?” You asked as the man dragged you to your room and started to pull out a pair of your jeans, a top and hoodie that he knew was your favourite.
“Get changed and meet me in the kitchen. I’m having a game night with some of the team and their partners and you’re coming.”
Knowing arguing was a losing battle, you changed into what he had pulled from your drawers and packed a bag of comfy clothes in case you decide to crash at Anthony’s apartment. The two of you went down to Anthony’s car and stopped by a store to grab snacks and alcohol for the event. You followed the older boy around the store and grabbed what he pointed too.
“So who’s coming?” You ask as the two of you unpack the groceries in Anthony’s kitchen once you get back to his apartment.
Anthony was stacking the beers away when you asked. “Uh Quinn, Elias, Brock and Thatcher.”
“So I’m the only girl?”
“No,” Anthony replies, “Thatcher’s wife Lexi is coming.”
You hum, a little nervous to be around so many people you didn’t know. While you were loud around your friends, to strangers you are quite reserved. But you didn’t have much time to think before you got to work preparing the grazing platter to put on the table while you played whatever game was planned. You played some music from your phone as you worked on the plate.
“You’re a gem, you realise that.”
“Mhm, keep thinking that,” You laugh as Anthony kisses your cheek.
Your phone started to buzz on the table and once you saw who it was, you went to answer it but Anthony beat you to it. He snatched it from your hand and answered the call for you. Now you were sure you weren’t getting your phone back anytime soon if it was who you thought it would be.
“Barzy!”
“Tito!”
Yep, exactly what you thought. The man went to his room to talk to your brother leaving you to prepare for his freaking get together. It’s not like you had organised this and were hosting! A knock at the door pulled you away from your task. You did wait to see if Anthony would come out to answer. Surprise surprise he didn’t. You wiped your hands on the tea towel before answering the door.
“Uh hi?”
You sent a smile at the man at the door who looked very confused. Lucky, you recognised who it was standing before you since you grew up in the Vancouver area. You made sure to introduce yourself. “Oh hi, I’m Anthony’s friend. Come on in.”
You stepped aside and let in the team’s captain. Quinn was dressed in a pair of jeans and a grey hoodie. Nothing unusual for the man who was close in age to yourself. His hair is messy but styled, the normal “I didn’t try” hairstyle. He looked good.
“Where’s Tito?” The brunette asks as he enters the living room and kitchen area.
You roll your eyes, “My brother called me and I didn’t even get to answer it before Tito managed to grab my phone.”
“Who’s your brother?”
“Barzal,” You answer. “Tito’s best friend.”
Quinn took a moment to look at you. He could see the resemblance between you and your older brother. Similar face shape, similar eyes. And even though he was straight, he knew your brother was good looking but he thought you were better looking. Stunning actually. It made him quite nervous to be alone with you.
“Anthony Beauvillier! Your teammate is here and I’d like my phone back! It’s not my job to entertain your guests.”
“But you’re so good at it,” Anthony retorts as he comes out of his room and throws your phone at you.
With facetime still up. You look at your phone to see your brother’s ugly mug on the screen wayyyy too close to the camera. “Wassup little sis?” Mat grins.
“God how are we related,” you joke. “How are you? I miss you.”
Mat smiles at you again. The two of you, and Liana, were very close. Often doing a group FaceTime to catch up once a month. He could see you were doing well. Happier since Tito had moved. A brother of yours was home. And your parents had agreed, you seemed to be coming out of your shell again.
“Miss you too. I’m good, just been playing really. Sucks without Tito.”
“No shit,” you mutter. “You two were attached at the hip.”
“I just switched Barzals,” Anthony chimes in when he hears the comment.
Mat laughed but quietened when he heard a quiet, deep chuckle. One he didn’t realise. He knew it would be a Canucks player, but who… “Who’s there with you guys?”
“Quinn,” you answer, turning so the captain was in frame.
Mat waved to the eldest Hughes brother, the one he liked the most, before turning his attention back to you. “I’ll let you go. But have fun tonight, you’ll love it.”
The group of you said your goodbyes. It allowed you to get back to the food that you were preparing. You finished off the platter and helped with some of the dinner. You kept to yourself until someone else arrived leaving you and Quinn in the living room by yourselves.
“How’s your new job going?” Quinn asks, breaking the silence.
You looked at him, confused that he knew about the job you had started this week. “Good. How did you know?”
“Tito talks about you more than you expect.”
“All good stuff I hope,” you reply.
“He’s proud of you,” Quinn elaborated quickly, worried he offended you.
“The job is good. Better than the last place I was at.”
Anthony walked back with Thatcher and his wife Lexi. The three chatted away happily as they joined them. The woman was holding a bottle of wine that looked awfully familiar. She lit up at the sight of you sitting at the table.
“Ahhhh, I've heard so much about you! I’m Lexi.”
You responded with your own name as you grabbed two glasses for the pair of you. It was a wine that was one of your personal favourites. While the boys stood around chatting, you two got comfortable on the couch where you’d be gathered around the coffee table playing games. It seemed like there was a stack of games ready to be played.
“How long have you known Beauvillier?” Lexi asked, taking a sip from her glass.
“I think 2010. I was only 10 when he and my brother were on the Canadian team together.”
Anthony laughed when he heard what you were talking about. “She was so cute back then.”
When everyone had arrived, you all situated yourselves around the table. Quinn was on one side of you and Lexi on the other. The first game was a simple game of cards against humanity. It was a bit hard since you only knew Anthony’s humour but it was going smoothly. Surprisingly, Quinn was winning, despite his quietness.
Every time it was your turn, you just happened to choose Quinn. And when you did it for the third time, Tito called bullshit and claimed you were rigging the game. After some debating back and forth between the two of you (which everyone watched with amusement) it was decided you’d play a new game. Hues and Cues was voted on to be the next game. Luckily, you had played this before so you explained it to the others. Nothing complicated, just had to choose a colour and describe it without using the name of the colour.
“Did you want another glass?” Quinn asked, noticing you were empty as he got up to get himself another beer.
“Please,” You smile.
He grabbed your glass from the table and stepped past you. Some of the group threw smirks between each other. Not that you noticed. Quinn returned to the living room and passed you your glass with a soft smile.
“Thank you.”
“No issue,” Quinn mumbles as he sits beside you once more.
The night ended close to midnight. Quite late for the hockey players but luckily they had a later training the next morning. After finishing up their killer Uno round, they cleaned up the dishes and started bidding each other goodbye.
“May I get your number?” Quinn whispers, hoping to not let the others know what he was saying.
You blush and pass him your phone,“I uh… sure. Here, put your phone number in.”
Quinn created a new contact for himself and made sure to text himself so he also had your number. He wasn’t going to let you slip away that easily. Everyone said goodbye and promised for another night of fun games in the future. You waved shyly at Quinn before Anthony shut the door to the apartment.
“Don’t say it,” You state immediately when you see the look on Anthony’s face when he turns around.
“You have a crush!”
“Stop!” You laugh, going to hide in the guestroom to get away from the annoying brother.
Anthony chuckled on the other side of the door. “I can’t wait to tell your brother everything.”

As the photographer of the New Jersey Devils, you got to enjoy the training and game nights as a part of your job. A perk alongside working in the same organisation as your boyfriend. Nico, the captain of the New Jersey Devils, and yourself had been dating since you had met in 2019. You met through your brother, Jack. Which was the downside of working for the Devils; your brother was also on the team. Oh and can’t forget Luke, your youngest brother, who had moved to Newark to play on the team as well.
After training, you and Nico went back to your apartment. He was house mates with Jack so it wasn’t unusual for him to stay with you as you didn’t live with anyone. Both of you got comfortable. You changed into your favourite lounging clothes then grabbed out some snacks. Since neither of you had work tonight, it was going to be a lazy day. The movie Batman was set up on the tv. Nico came back to the couch in just a pair of sweatpants.
“You look cute,” Nico mutters, pressing a kiss to your lips as you two get comfy.
A giggle escapes your lips as he continues to pepper your face with kisses. He shifted you two around so you were under him. It had been a while since the two of you had some time to yourself. It soon heated up. Hands started wandering, finding exposed skin.
“You taste like skittles,” You laugh, pulling away for a second to catch your breath.
Nico smirks, “I could taste a little sweeter if you’d like.”
You didn’t bother replying, only kissing him once more. Nico pulled off your devils hoodie, leaving you with your comfy Bonds bra and your fluffy sleep shorts. You grin into the kiss when you feel Nico through his sweatpants. Mid tongue down your throat the door was thrown open. A door that was locked.
“Ew!”
Luckily Nico had a quick reaction time and grabbed the throw blanket. He pulled it over you, covering your tits. “What the fuck are you two doing here?”
Your brothers, Jack and Luke, stood inside your apartment with Luke’s friends Seamus and Ethan behind them looking like deers in headlights. The only reason Jack even had a spare key was incase of emergencies. Not for random visits.
“What the fuck are you guys doing here?” You seeth.
Luke pulled out his phone and called someone. “Yo Quinn. We just walked in on (Y/N) and Hischier making out naked on the couch.”
“We’re not naked!” You shout, hoping your twin could hear you.
“Semi naked,” Jack compromises.
Quinn sighed on the other side of the phone. Sometimes he was glad he was alone in Vancouver with none of his siblings able to do this exact situation. “Leave them be you guys. They’ve been dating for like three years.”
Nico didn’t move from above you, hoping his hard on wouldn’t be on show through his grey sweatpants. “Can you two please leave?”
“We wanted to go out for lunch, do something on our day off.”
You groaned once more. “Why didn’t you text us instead?”
“We did,” Luke argues. “Neither of you answered.”
“Did you ever think maybe we were busy doing our own thing? You know… as a couple?”
“No.”
You huffed, pressing a kiss to Nico’s cheek and standing up from the couch. Making sure to hold the blanket to your chest. Your brothers didn’t need to see anything more than they already have. “Give us 10. But you have to leave and wait in the car.”
“Yes!”
Both of the boys raced out excitedly. It allowed Nico to finally stand up from the couch. Both of you sighed and went to your room to change into some better clothes.
“I feel like we’re their parents,” Nico jokes.
You chuckle, “At least our kids will be better than these rascals.”

Being the Princess of Australia was pretty amazing. You got to travel the world with your mother and older brother, meet amazing people (and not-so-amazing ones). You got nice clothes and did things many others your age couldn’t. You and your family were loved by the people of Australia.
When you were a kid, you had a trip to Russia. Your parents were on a political visit, and you had to go along with them. This is one of your favourite memories from childhood. Your family was shown around Moscow, and you accidentally bumped into a boy not much older than you on the street. While your parents were busy talking to other adults, you and the boy, who introduced himself as Andrei, talked and ran around together. When it was time to go, you begged your parents to ask if the pair of you could write to each other.
As you both grew up, the letters turned into emails, then messages, calls, and FaceTimes whenever the time zones allowed it. Even once he moved to Michigan for hockey, you talked whenever you could.
One of the perks of being part of the Royal family was having a say in which events came to Perth. When whispers of the NHL bringing the Global Series to Australia started, you advocated for Perth to be the city of choice. When you turned up to the meeting in Melbourne with the NHL officials, you mentioned how much you liked hockey and that Perth would show the NHL a good time. The first green light was for Perth to host the weekend event.
Your mother thought this would be a good event for you to take charge of since you were so passionate about hockey—your second passion after AFL, of course (not that you’d tell Andrei that). You took charge of organising everything for the event with the help of the city’s major event organisers.
Through the journey of organising the weekend, you advocated for the Carolina Hurricanes to be one of the teams. If the Canes were the main choice, then the most exciting game would be against the New York Rangers. The more intense a rivalry, the more likely people would be enticed to watch a sport they’d never seen.
You still remember the call with Andrei when you got the confirmation about the teams being the Canes and the Rangers. It was after dinner when you FaceTimed Andrei, who was in New York for a game.
“How’s it going, Princess?” Andrei grinned when he answered the call.
You were bouncing off the walls of your apartment in the palace. He could see you beaming. “It’s confirmed!”
“What’s confirmed?”
“You’re coming to Perth!” you squealed.
Andrei was confused. “I’m what?”
“The Global Series is coming to Perth,” you elaborated, “and the Canes are one of the teams.”
“I’m going to see you?!” Andrei asked, tears welling up as it had been a year since you had seen each other. The last time was the All-Star game when you flew out to support him. “Oh my god, I can’t wait! When?”
“September,” you answered.
“That’s like six months away!”
When the week finally arrived, you were ecstatic. Only all the years of Royalty training could mask the happiness you felt. You and your personnel were tucked away out of sight unless you were walking in from a specific plane—the one carrying all the hockey players and staff. One by one, the familiar faces of the Canes passed by where you were standing.
“Hello, Your Highness,” Aho grinned when he recognized you standing by the exit of the tunnel.
You laughed at the boy, “Hi Fishy, how are you?”
“Better now that Svech will stop bouncing,” he replied, standing near you facing his teammates coming out, waiting for his teammate. “Look who’s coming.”
Lifting yourself on your tiptoes to see over the other six-foot-plus player, you spied the familiar Russian, bouncing foot to foot in excitement.
“Gee, Princess,” Mickey, one of your guards, laughed.
As soon as Andrei got within reaching distance, you ran for him, launching yourself at him. The two of you were wrapped up in each other, both with tears running down your faces.
“I’ve missed you, Princess,” Andrei whispered.
“I missed you too.”
You tagged along with the teams to their hotel, one of the best in the city. Your mother had decided to host the teams at one of your family’s favourite restaurants, a rooftop bar overlooking the gorgeous Scarborough Beach. You had a change of clothes in the car, knowing you’d be going from one place to another without returning to the palace.
“I still can’t believe you’re here,” Andrei grinned as he watched you come out of the bathroom.
“You mean you’re here,” you smirked as you slipped in your earrings once more.
Andrei travelled with you and your security from the hotel to the restaurant. The rest of the team and staff took a bus. Your mother, older brother, and his long-term girlfriend would meet you at the restaurant, which was hired out for the night.
“How’s your family?” Andrei asked as you both stepped out of the car after one of the guards.
“You’ll see them in a sec,” you laughed, intertwining your fingers with his.
The pair beat the buses to the restaurant, so they went up to meet your mom and brother. Your security stayed by the entrance as there was already security posted around the restaurant.
“Andrei Svechnikov,” your mom smiled when she saw you two nearing. “It’s lovely to see you thriving in the league.”
“Your Majesty,” Andrei grinned, bowing and knowing the protocols.
“We’ve missed you around here,” your mom admitted.
Your brother stepped up, cutting in, “Some more than others.”
You made sure to lean over and hit him. Not the first time and definitely won’t be the last with his history of smart comments. “Shut it.”
The elevator dinged, and in walked the coaching staff and players of the two NHL teams. Each of them greeted your family before everyone mingled.
“How have you been?” you asked Seb as he and Jarvis stood with you and Andrei in the garden smoking area. No one was smoking, but it was a nice little seating area.
“Good,” both boys replied.
Water started to rain down on you guys where you sat. Seb and Jarvis raced to go inside out of the shower. You just laughed, looking at Andrei who was already looking at you. Just like the moment in every romance movie, Andrei leaned in, pressing his lips to yours in the rain. As his arms slipped around your waist, yours slipped around his neck, pulling him closer.
“Get out from the sprinklers,” your mother shouted with a large smile on her face.
You pulled away and looked up at the clear skies. The bloody sprinklers in the garden had decided to turn on while you were sitting there. You and Andrei laughed as you moved to step out of the garden area.
“I’m so sorry, Your Highness,” a worker apologized as she handed both of you a towel to dry off with.
“It’s no issue,” you laughed, your eyes not leaving the grinning Russian beside you.
The pair of you didn’t part throughout dinner. The table you were at was filled with Andrei, his favourite boys, and their partners. You were glowing with happiness, and so was Andrei. His friends were happy to see the friendship blossom into something more.
“I don’t know if you have been told,” your mother started, standing from her seat with the coaching staff, “but on Friday evening, I got three boxes, including the royal box, at the AFL game tomorrow. It’s Eagles vs. Dockers, which is a big game. It’s called the Derby.”
“It’s the equivalent to a Rangers versus Islanders game or the Oilers versus Flames,” you elaborated for the players who had no clue about the sport.
The week was spent with Andrei, attending practices and hanging out with your best friend. If he had enough time, he’d come to your apartment in the palace. It wasn’t just Andrei either; sometimes you and Andrei would take the others and partners out around the city. You got to play host and tour guide around your home city.
Friday night came around, and you dressed up like you usually do for football: jeans, a cute top with a coat, and an Eagles scarf to finish the outfit. You had brought your clothes to the hotel to get ready with Andrei. The two teams had taken sides. Canes were supporting West Coast like you. Rangers were supporting Fremantle like your brother and his girlfriend.
“You look excited,” Andrei grinned as you and the group arrived at the royal box at Optus Stadium.
“I love watching the footy!” you grinned, waving at fans standing below the box.
In the royal box were you, Andrei and his close friends and partners, your mother, and security. Your brother and his girlfriend were with the Rangers as they were cheering on Fremantle. You and the group were excited for the centre bounce. Of course, the group was going through the media as it was a big deal with the NHL teams in the city.
“Your Highness, are you ready to go down to do the coin flip?”
“Of course,” you smiled at the worker.
You, Andrei, your brother, and Trouba followed the worker down to the oval. Your brother would do this week’s coin toss as you did the previous derby. The four of you, two supporters of each team. Oscar Allen and Alex Pearce both bowed to the royals, then shook hands with the four of you.
“Lovely to see you again, Oscar,” you grinned as you hugged the captain.
“You as well, Your Highness,” the blonde chuckled.
After the coin toss, which the Eagles won, they chose the way they were kicking first before the royal party was escorted back to the boxes to watch the game. As the group walked past the Eagles huddle, Harley Reid peeled away from the group for a second to fist bump the Princess as she walked by.
“Good luck, Harley,” you called as he ran back.
Harley waved back, a wide grin on the rookie's face, “We’ve got this.”
Andrei was confused at the interaction but knew you were friendly with all the players on the team. “Who’s that?”
“That is Harley Reid,” you answered. “He was the number one draft pick last year. He’s changed the mood on the team greatly. Great dude.”
As you and Andrei settled back in the suite, you cuddled into Andrei’s side. It was kind of chilly but nothing too crazy. The boys threw questions at you about the game. Who’s this player? What’s that move? What is the ref calling?
“What does it mean when they kick it between the posts?” Aho asked as the Eagles scored the first goal of the game.
You laughed at the question after you finished cheering. “It’s a goal, worth six points. Between the inner and outer posts on each side is a behind, worth only a point.”
The game went by with lots of cheering from the Canes and yourself. The game took off with an exciting start. The Eagles kept the lead through all four quarters. Sure, the Dockers came close, but the Eagles took off in the last quarter. The satisfaction of singing the winning song was incredible, and all the boys enjoyed it.
The next big event was the first game of the Global Series in Perth. You traveled with the Canes to the stadium while your family would meet you there just before the game. It was agreed that you and your brother would both do the puck drop. He said he’d wear the Rangers jersey to allow you to wear the Canes jersey of your upgraded best friend.
“This will be you and the Canes families’ suite, Your Highness,” a worker stated as you were shown where you’d sit for the game.
As much as you wished to sit in the front row to watch your boyfriend, you couldn’t. It was too high risk for security. So instead, you were in the suite with the girlfriends of the Canes, which you guess you were now a part of.
“Hey sweetheart,” Brent Burns’ wife greeted you with their two kids.
After spending so long with the team and families, you had told them to just call you by your name. And like normal, nicknames were created. Andrei always called you Princess. The team called you Your Highness. The older women in the families called you sweetheart.
The game was intense, and the girls were energetic. You were on your feet every time the boys scored. The girls were right there beside you as well. The first thing you all did after the game was head down to where the makeshift change rooms were.
“There she is,” Andrei grinned when he came off the ice after the photos were taken.
You smiled and wrapped your arms around the giant hockey player. “Wow, it’s like you’re taller on skates.”
“I wonder,” he laughed, pulling you closer.
“Congrats on the hatty, Mr. Sweaty.”
Andrei chuckled, leaning down and pressing a kiss to your lips, “With my good luck charm watching me and cheering me on, always, My Princess.”
Summary: Unbeknownst to the public, Luke has a baby and it's time for both of theirs first NHL game.

SWISSBOYHISCH MASTERLIST
Tonight was Luke’s first game for the New Jersey Devils. His first NHL game. Not only were his parents in the crowd but his girlfriend and a couple of his teammates made the journey to Newark to celebrate. It was going to be a big night for the Hughes family.
Unbeknownst to the public, Luke and you had a beautiful baby girl. Nicknamed Bubba by all her uncles. She was only 6 months old. Living proof that birth control wasn’t 100% effective. But she was the most loved baby in the world. Her grandparents loved her to bits along with the hordes of uncles she had from the UMich team and the Devs. Including her two actual uncles who spoil her to bits.
After you dressed Bubba into her custom jersey, you in yours as well, you went down to the lobby to meet Ellen, Jim and the boys in the lobby. Ellen immediately cooed at the sight of Bubba in her father’s jersey.
“Oh look at her.”
You were happy to hand her off to her grandmother while you got to chat to Dylan, Mark and Ethan. You all made your way down the street towards the Prudential Centre. The hotel was only a couple blocks from the rink.
“My turn,” Ethan stated, holding his hands out for Bubba.
Bubba was handed around the group. She just loved the attention, being such a bubbly little girl. When you guys got the the arena, you held Bubba while you guys made your way up to the suite Jack had organised for you. If it wasn’t for the six month old, you guys would have probably been in the crowd but Luke and Jack didn’t want anything to go wrong. Didn’t want you or Bubba to be hurt.
When the countdown neared zero for warmups, you walked down to the glass with Bubba in your arms. Luke didn’t know you were planning on being at the glass during his rookie lap. Well he didn’t know about that until Jack made sure he got the solo lap.
You held Bubba on the ledge. Her headphones made her look smaller than she already was. She looked around the ice, enamoured with all the stimuli. Then Luke was announced to be doing his rookie lap. He took to the ice circling before spotting you at the end. The rest of the team joined him and Jack made his way to where Luke was standing in front of you. Bubba recognised her Dad immediately, trying to bounce and get to him. Then Uncle Jack was there and she went crazy. Two of her favourite people were right in front of her.
Then she realised she can’t be held by either of them and she started to cry. You laughed, cradling her before waving goodbye to the brothers in front of you. Staying down there for a couple extra minutes to soak in Luke warming up with the team. You got a fan to take a couple pictures of you holding Bubba.
Once you were back in the suite, you got comfortable between Ellen and Dylan. Bubba passed out pretty quick after a bottle. Leaving you all to enjoy Luke’s first NHL game for the New Jersey Devils.
