ribcage. who/what are they trying to protect ?
truly and well depends. himself, probably above all else. his image of always being in control and always being on top, even when it seems like he isn't. protecting those he truly, deeply loves (like Azin, ELP, even David until David took what he wanted from Jay). i think there's no resisting the fact that Jay's inherently selfish but not necessarily in a way that is always harming people around him. he's aware enough to know how to use his status and ability and power to help others, even if at times it seems he's not (I.E. ignoring ELP the first time he came to AEW after Jay started there, ignoring him to help keep him away from his own feuds and business).
sternum. what makes their heart pound hardest ?
it's hard to say if it's one single thing. i don't think it's love, or being in the ring. i think it's the high of betrayal and revenge. it excites him the most, it makes his heart pump the hardest. timing is absolutely everything when it comes to it. he needs to focus absolutely perfectly, or else everything will fall apart and fuck up. i think second to that is when he hits the bladerunner. it's such a difinitive, hard hitting finisher that is definitely easy to struggle out of, so he has to be snappy with it. it has to be fast and it has to hit hard. it's far more difficult than it looks to do right (all the love to juice, jay is flattered he hit the bladerunner, but compare both of theirs and you can see what i mean).
