i think the reason why i find the jedi knight story so underwhelming is because it’s been kind of spoiled for me because it’s supposed to be the kind of “main story” of SWTOR (yes i know it is not, but at the same time you’re the absolute Big Hero there)

and the reasony why i love the consular is because i really barely know anything about what is suppose dto happen there and here i am, slowly discovering a potentially very tragic story involving these 4 jedi masters and that is absolutely My Jam

.... on the other hand, to me, the Jedi Knight’s Big Hero story just falls flat, because it hardly feels like i have to prove anything, you know? The expectation is already there on my little knight, she is “destined for greatness” and all that nonsense and perhaps it’s just me but i honestly don’t appreciate that in this game as much as i did in others. maybe it’s because i play my knight as a severely insecure and volatile person who does not have a good grasp on the order’s philosophy and frankly only a bunch of dumbasses would send her on a mission like this. things do not end well around her

i’ll have to play the JK story again with a different kind of character because as of right now every time i log on on her i become *so* goddamn annoyed, it’s no wonder i’m almost at Dark I on her

I liked the Knight story a lot, but because I a. went in with no spoilers, b. had a DS Knight and c. the DS Knight has tons of little flavor text hinting at your choices and that you've fallen, more so than any other class story, probably except Warrior. Consular was also better than most people make it sound like it is. I personally absolutely found smuggler a chore... it was so slow-paced and predictable and exactly what you'd expect from smuggler.

Yeahh i can imagine it’d be a lot more exciting if most of the story wasn’t spoiled for me, but on the other hand I still find it just... so predictable, you know? I don’t mind having a base outline for endings because of course we’re going to beat the Bad Guy and save the day and etc etc, we are heroes in every story after all, but still, knight just doesn’t work out for me, even though i keep making dark side choices according to how my impulsive and vindictive knight would act.

I got one flavour text regarding her choices, on Quesh when Scourge comments on her being “touched by darkness”, which i really  loved, but then i talked to my friend who has an almost pure light sided knight and told me she got the same talk, so I’m... a bit disappointed after that. 

I personally also like smuggler, but i gotta be in the mood to play her. It really is a fairly predictable story, and to be quite honest I cannot imagine my smuggler going through KotFE and KotET stuff because it wouldn’t fit at all, but I really enjoy the voice acting, the cheesy stuff, and the fact that i can be a jerkass throughout the whole story and still be a “good guy” (using that term loosely)

i haven’t finished either classes yet, back in the day i went pretty much Empire-only, but tbh that’s for the best because i get to appreciate these classes now, and i’m having a lot of fun... even when i’m mad as hell because every choice seems dumb af

My suspension of disbelief of the whole "you have to do everything by yourself cause WE'RE BUSY" thing throughout the Jedi Knight storyline was hard enough to keep up through the first couple acts, but man it is getting to absurd levels on Belsavis.

A lot of the tension here is the fact the enemy is focusing on slowing and distracting tactics--things that would be all but ineffective if you weren't, you know, completely on your own.  Every step of the way they emphasize over and over that you failing there will destroy all life in the galaxy, and still you're handling it by yourself?  If there were other Jedi involved or even Republic support, those wouldn't even be an issue.  So you supposedly have the highest stakes imaginable, and at the same time the Council feels it's only important enough to spare a single Jedi and one padawan for.  Uh huh.

"You're the only one who can do this!!" is an age-old video game trope, but at least most of the time they cook up a reason why you have to do it and why no one bothers helping you.  Come on, Jedi Council, I'm sure whatever your weekend plans were can be postponed.
