I thought this was a good anthem for joining the rogues! Whether you left a clan, used to be a loner, or were born into it, this really evokes the vibe imo. Raising hell!

2. Kiwi by Harry Styles

This one is honestly just for the vibes, because I think the guitar in this has big heist movie/band of misfits terrorizing the town energy and the rogues kind of have that energy. Also... “havin your baby”??? Wolf?????? hehe

This song is... as the title implies... all about FREEDOM! That was a big reason for Spider being a rogue-- she doesn’t like rules and she doesn’t like being constrained by a code. And I think the chorus really sounds like a chant and an anthem and I love its vibes on this playlist.

4. Just a Girl by No Doubt

Idk if this song has PLOT relevance although I think it’s kind of an Ashleigh song?? I put it in here for the girlies because it’s all about feeling constrained by the society you’re in and wanting to break free. It’s also a hardcore bop and really fits the vibes.

5. Paper Planes by MIA

No one on the corner has swagger like us Hit me on my burner prepaid wireless We pack and deliver like UPS trucks Already going hell, just pumping that gas

All I wanna do is- *gunshot gunshot* And a- *cash register noise* And take your money

I think this is an iconic song for committing crimes in a squad. It had to go on this playlist. Obviously cats don’t have any concept of burner prepaid wireless, packing and delivering, UPS trucks, pumping gas, or guns or cash register, but I mean... the vibes are there.

6. Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash

Should I stay or should I go now? Should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be trouble And if I stay it will be double So come on and let me know

This is another song that’s more for the vibes than the lyrics, but I think the rogues are always choosing GO! They don’t put down roots! Which can get a little complicated when they do form those bonds with non-rogues... what happens then?! Mostly, though, to me, this song is about power and resisting someone’s power over you. You choose “go” so that you can have the power, because you can’t take being in their state of limbo anymore!

Rlly no idea what this song means IRL but it’s such a bad guys banger. The rogues reject the past and embrace villainy! They’re just here to fuck shit up and have fun doing it!! This song is very violent and intense but it’s exactly the rogue vibe.

This song is like Born to Run’s evil twin. Not to repeat myself too much but yeah!! This song is about abandoning your principles and just doing what you want. A good message? Who knows! A rogues message? Hell yeah!

9. Beggin’ by Maneskin

Riding high, when I was king I played it hard and fast, 'cause I had everything I walked away, but you warned me then But easy come, and easy go, and it would end

This song is also more about the vibes than the lyrics. It reminds me of motorcycles. Cats can’t ride motorcycles but they can channel motorcycle energy and I think the rogues do that.

10. Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked by Cage the Elephant

I thought this was a good place to end! Since the playlist is over but there still... “ain’t no rest...” get it...? But yeah this song is all about how ppl gotta do stuff that other ppl disapprove of to survive... and even the ppl who are held up as paragons of virtue also do shady things! As the outcasts and criminals of the cat world, the rogues definitely fall into the first category. But they embrace it! That’s who they are!

Name: Swiftclaw Age (in moons)**:  40 moons Clan: Stoneclan Rank: Warrior Mate: N/A Apprentice/Mentor/Kits: HMU if you need a mentor Beliefs: Swiftclaw, both believes it and doesn’t. She’s truly on the side that will give her the best outcome and if that means toeing the line between her friend and their leader well so be it. Skills: Combat, Agility Appearance: Swiftclaw has very injuries, that’s not to say she isn’t a good fighter but it is because she is never afraid of getting into fights, she is the first one if possible and considering Bluestorm, she needed to make sure she can watch his back.

Story so far…: Swiftclaw is someone to fear, someone to ask help from only if she’s going to join a fight and have some fun doing it. She’s protective over Bluestorm and you know if you try to go against him, she will pop up and take over the fight.

She’s quite the loner too, other than her friend, her brothers are in the clan too and yet she avoids them, avoids most people and there have been rumors wondering she she would ever become a loner. But just because Swiftclaw likes to be alone doesn’t mean she actually wants to be alone.

She just doesn’t want a mate or kits, or anything to slow her down and wiggle their way into her heart the way one blue cat already did. One day she’ll be the best fighter anyway. It’s as simple as that.

Stay in that water and Keep where you're feeling fine but I'm just the daughter of a man who lives on oak and wine and I Swim like my father And remember hard days drivin' miles across county lines.

I thought this was a good place to start! Obv “Walden Pond” has the forest vibes and Frogstar’s style is very introspective. She’s very concerned about doing the right thing and has a lot of #deep thoughts about what that is. I also thought the father motif in this was good bc she is trying to live up to her father’s leadership.

2. Copperline by James Taylor

It doesn't come as a surprise to me It doesn't touch my memory Man, I'm lifting up and rising free Down on Copperline

I think this song is about camping? Which feels right for Forestclan. It’s a song about nostalgia and how the places of your childhood sometimes disappear. And with the two-legs moving in deeper, I think this song reminds me of Frogstar thinking about the past and how she can preserve it for the future.

3. Nina Cried Power by Hozier

It's not the wakin', it's the risin' It is the groundin' of a foot uncompromisin' It's not forgoin' of the lie, It's not the openin' of eyes It's not the wakin', it's the risin'

This song is about something v different but 1. I think all Hozier songs have #forest vibes and 2. this song has a sort of “uprising” vibe to it that can kind of represent Frogstar deciding to take a strong stand. Which is something she struggles with, and wants to do in a way as fair and intentional as possible. And I think that’s what this song is about! Fighting for what you believe in, out of a place of deep conviction!

4. Blood, Muscle, Skin and Bone by Brandi Carlile

This one’s for Rookheart and Batheart, Frogstar’s most trusted advisors. Something important about Frogstar’s leadership style is that she is verrry influenced by the people around her. She’s new to this, and she needs to lean on the people she trusts. And I think this song also has a fighty vibe, and we’re in the fighty part of the playlist!

5. Now I’m In It by HAIM

This is a song about going through a hard time and standing up for yourself imo! It goes in the fighting part of the playlist because I think it can speak to Frogstar’s inner struggles and her desire to stand up for her clan in a way that honors her values. It’s a hard line to walk, and it causes a lot of internal struggle for her!

More parent motifs! Frogstar learned everything she knows about leadership from watching her father do it, and then shadowing the previous leader. She wants to be strong and wise, and I think the repetitive sound of this song has a militaristic/marching quality.

7. Garden Song by Phoebe Bridgers

I feel like this song means a lot of different things but for these purposes, I’m choosing to use it as Frogstar’s reflections on the choices she’s made as leader and how she’s grown over time. She feels good about the things she’s done because they reflect her values and protect her clan, but there’s always going to be a “haunted” quality because sometimes she’s had to make difficult choices that hurt people. 

8. Orpheus by Sara Bareilles

This is suuuch a Tiana song. I think I posted it for Knights stuff because it’s all about getting through hard times with the power of your relationships with the people you care about the most. And I think in the darkest times for Forestclan, their strength will be their care for one another and their ability still to trust even when things seem bleak!

For me this song is about Frogstar’s faith! She is very connected to Starclan and turns to them for guidance when she doesn’t know what to do. And this song is all about finding peace and transcendence in nature, and I can imagine Frogstar looking out at the forest with this song playing as she tries to imagine what Starclan would tell her to do.

10. The Light of a Clear Blue Morning (The Wailin’ Jennys Cover)

This song is about hope! Frogstar has hope that everything will work out, and I think this song just evokes like through a field on a bright sunny morning and feeling hope. I like to give playlists a happy ending so here is Frogstar’s happy ending... will it play out like this? Who knows! But this is what she is fighting for.

Name: Storm Age (in moons)**:  40 moons Clan: No Clan - Kittypet Rank: N/A Mate: N/A Apprentice/Mentor/Kits: N/A Beliefs: Storm has no idea Starclan exists, though she knows the wildcats exist and while she likes to go outdoors and explore, she is cautious especially with her family if they get too close in case someone is taken from her. Skills: Comforting her humans, Agility Appearance: Storm is fluffy and white with tinges of brown, She has socks of brown and it matches her tail, ears and nose/mouth. While she is willing to get dirty her humans keep her clean and spiffy.

Story so far…: Storm loves to sunbath, she also loves to explore, her favourite place to sunbath is up in a tree where she cane see the world. It’s this very spot that caused her humans to never realize she had gotten lost one day.

That one day almost made her willing to never leave the safety of her backyard and home again. Those cats out there had some horrible scars and Storm wanted to protect her family from that. But Storm can’t help but be curious about that world and every day she wants to explore even more.

Name: Juniper Age (in moons)**:  16 moons Clan: No Clan Rank: N//A Mate: N/A Apprentice/Mentor/Kits: N/A Beliefs: Juniper has no idea of the starclan, she barely has any idea of the outside world, she will explore but unless her tiny humans take her out Juni is too small to explore outside the backyard on her own. Skills: She’s cute? Appearance: Juni is a Calico and a mix of colours, her most notable features is her half and half face.

Story so far…: Juniper has so much to explore and such little time, it’s just she’s way too small to explore. At least when the kind old lady and her cat was next door she got to explore and pretend to hunt in a new backyard when her tiny humans took her over. But these days they haven’t been back and Juni hasn’t heard his voice.

The lonely kitten has been scratching at the fence wanting to visit and see for herself what had happened. What had caused her tiny humans to cry and beg to visit and the tall humans to be mean and tell them they couldn’t.

Juniper would figure it out! She almost had a little hole to squeeze out of already sorted. How will Juniper handle the real world.

Name: Duskpaw Age (in moons)**:  12 Moons Clan: Darkclan Rank: Med Cat Apprentice Mate: N/A Apprentice/Mentor/Kits: Goldenpool? Beliefs: Duskpaw used to believe in paths, goals and following everything to the line. It was something his parents had drilled into him and of course the idea of him as a medcat seemed like the appropriate voice, he wasn’t too gentle and kind and wasn’t the greatest at healing but he would grow into it. They would be powerful and help lead. He however does believe all the other clans are less than Skills: Tracking, Hunting, ‘Healing’ Appearance: Duskpaw is sleek, his hair is cut short and sometimes when you leave him alone he comes back with leaves and dirt all over him as he explores places never explored before.

Story so far…: Duskpaw has always wanted adventure, he was a curious kit who could barely sit still, it was a surprise to everyone when he went into a medcat apprentice, but too be honest med cats got to see a lot so was it really all that surprising? It was an opening to power that Duskpaw thought he wanted.

The thing was when he started to follow this path Duskpaw found himself getting more and more bored. He wanted to be out there with his sisters exploring and defeating enemies, he wanted to fight and prove he was the best. With his parents gone there’s no one to check these thoughts and now with Darkclan making moves it just depends how far Duskpaw is willing to go for that sense of adventure

She sees things happen before they happen, and she knows it’s a gift from the Starclan, but she doesn’t want to be different! Skills: She doesn’t really have any particular talents, Honeypaw likes to daydream… she can be a little nosy so let’s say that not minding her business is a skill. Appearance: Honeypaw is a long haired orange tabby. Her orange is more cream leaning and she has a fluffy cream colored chest. Her tail is just as fluffy and pristine as the rest of her coat. And her eyes are a pretty yellow hazel color. Story so far…: Honeypaw was born different. From the time that she was a kit, she’d see things happen before they came to pass. But she saw what happened to Shadowpool all those moons ago. She was scared to show off her gift from the Starclan, so she kept it secret from everyone. Even her mentor, Minnowstream! Honeypaw didn’t want to be different; she wanted to fit in. And if she were to hypothetically have chosen to tell everyone and became a medicine cat… she wouldn’t be allowed a mate or kits! And who could feel fulfilled without a life partner or kits to raise? Honeypaw is determined to get through her apprenticeship, even though it is not going great, and just become a queen as soon as she can. This warrior cat thing is not for her!
