IT'S ALIVE!
I've successfully mounted the sx1509 chip using a toaster oven, and after a few dumb mistakes, I'm finally able to flash the msp430. As a result, I now get to create a fun light show. I'll post more about this in the next few days. Until then, I need to work on cleaning up the msp430 to sx1509 library I wrote so that I can upload it up to github, and I need to finalize the lighting specifics.
Time for a burrito.
