ok you know what, I am having a Bad Day so it’s time to talk about my ocs. specifically the ones from Farranel!
Petra fell into a fantasy adventure world, became a legendary hero, put a lost queen upon her rightful throne, and generally saved the day a lot. that was three years ago. now she’s trying to get a degree, not worry her parents, and firmly ignore the absolute buckets of ptsd. it’s going..........okay. until the day Farran soldiers appear in her apartment in a flash of lightning and hand her a so-called gift from the supposedly grateful queen: the Phoenix Sorcerer, the man who nearly burned down the world, the man whose eyes still haunt her nightmares.
Matt fell into a fantasy adventure world, became a ravening monster, killed a lot of people while mind-controlled and then killed some more while fully himself, and was finally, to his shock and lingering horror, saved. that was three years ago. now he’s trying to get a degree, make normal friends, and put all that killing behind him. it’s going really well! the fact that he goes into a cold sweat at the thought of ever being more than twenty miles away from Petra, the only person who can put him down if he loses control, is not a problem. he’s fine. until the day the Phoenix Sorcerer, the man who tore Matt’s humanity from him and laughed, turns up in Petra’s apartment.
Noli Yerrok is having a terrible day, but we don’t feel bad for him because he nearly burned down the world that one time. (and would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids!) actually, he’s having a terrible month, or maybe even year. this man has been tortured a lot lately. and yeah, he did do all that evil stuff, but....there wasn’t supposed to be torture in Farranel anymore. Petra and Matt didn’t put Evany on the throne so she could rule the land cruelly. they want to trust that she didn’t order this, that she would never order this, but......
and now they’re stuck in a tiny apartment together! Petra’s just lucky she had an uncle willing to rent her this place for cheap, so she doesn’t have roommates to deal with. she does, however, still have classes, and homework, and exams. as does Matt, who agrees to stay over and help make sure Yerrok doesn’t shank her in the night.
they don’t have any way to contact Farranel and find out what’s happening. all they can do is trust that Evany has a good reason for what she’s doing, and that she’ll show up and take Yerrok off their hands sooner rather than later. until then, they have to keep their old enemy alive, help each other through the flashbacks, and try not to fail their midterms.
