We're playing with @superheavenband on May 19th at the St. Clare Theater. They're streaming their new album "Ours is Chrome" at RedBull.com so go check it out and come hang at the show. We've got tickets and they're $10 so don't pay extra et the door. #superheaven #oursischrome #htdc #diamondyouth #shows #syracuse #syracuseshows (at St. Clare Theater)
Last rant and i’m done. The issue isn’t whether or not stage dives should be allowed. They will never be. They are a liability. Plain and simple. Yeah some kids may sneak them in but as a whole they will never be encouraged. So all you people just jumping on the band wagon thinking you’re going to change it, sit the fuck down. THAT. IS. NOT. EVEN. THE. GOD. DAMNED. ISSUE.
That is just the argument meant to shield people from what actually happend. And what actually happened is there was NO stage dive. Plain and simple. The kid did not stage dive. He pushed up on the crowd to get up high and SING with Scott. He wasn’t even crowd surfing. End of story. The problem is the bouncer saw it wrong or was overzealous. Whatever. Shit happens. BUT OWN UP TO IT. All the security guy had to say was my bad, and we all could have moved on from this. That’s all Scott was trying to do. Help the kid who didn’t break any rules. But what happened is Terror was judged by their bad rep (which they’ve been working so hard to change fyi) and thought Scott was trying to start a fight. He wasn’t. He never touched the bouncer.
The issue is not whether or not stage diving should be allowed, the issue is the kid didn’t stage dive and therefore was forcibly removed (the bouncer headlocked him and pulled him on stage by his neck) for. No. Reason.
THAT is what Terror and Stick To Your Guns stood up for. THAT is why they left the show.
But maybe you couldn’t hear Scott trying to explain it because they turned off his mike and turned up the house music. Twice.
So if you’re on the ‘let stage dives happen’ train, shut the fuck up. You are just as wrong and you are defeating the message these two bands displayed.
ANOTHER THING. They are saying the previous bands went off without a hitch? No problems, it was just Terror? I'd like to remimd every ome of Counterparts set, where some dall dude was straight bashing on kids. He wasn't there for the music. He wasn't there for fun, he was out to hurt people. And you know what? Security lept off stage and tool him to the ground. And do you know what the crowd did? WE CHEERED THE SECURITY GUY. Because he did what was right for all of us. We know the pit. We know the rules. And this guy wasn't following them. He was danerous and a liability. Yeah the bouncer used force but he HAD to. It took 3 of them to carry him out because he was just lookig for a fight. And we all saw and supported them. So you can't say well all kids are biased against the bouncers. No. We knew and followed the rules and supported the decision to take some one out WHEN THAT PERSON WAS WRONG. The kid in the Terror set was not wrong. He did not deserve to be man handled and thrown out.
Oh and one last thing. Neither band charged for the show at the badlands. The badlands charged at the bandlands. Which hey its their venue, they were not affiliated with the lost show they just tried to help out. So stop bashing them because not everyone could fit. I got the door shut in my fave too and I have no quarrel with that. It was physically impossible to fit everyone in. Besides, was the street pit not fun? Because I remember a crowd of smiling kids having a blast even though we couldn’t see the band up close. But back to that…The doors were opened and closed before either band got to the venue so Syracuse Shows can stop spreading that lie too. Considering how they obviously did not even go to the badlands that night….they know nothing about what happened there.
Anyone wanna meet up at the Glamour Kills show?
