Licorice and Pie - [Elissa and Alistair]
Do you want extra vegetables, fruits, or one slightly less-than mediocre cut of meat? It's not a difficult question. Just pick one. I hate making these decisions on my own. You eat more than I do anyway. Text me back quick or you're eating fishbeans with Carver. I'm not hanging out in the store all day.
Elissa pressed send on the her phone, sighing in annoyance as she steered her shopping cart down the candy aisle and waited for a response to her question. Normally she shopped with Garrett, or on occasion Gamlen. It made things easier since they ate the food she cooked and she wasn't picky. Aside from one food allergy, she could manage to find something palatable in pretty much anything. Better to leave the decisions to people who could potentially be less open to variety.
This aisle was a bad decision. She didn't need candy, but with a glance down into her cart she realized she didn't need beer or Peans either. What harm could come from indulging every once in a while? Especially when it was her favorite, and the largest bag of the fruity confectioner's treat was actually on sale for the week with a coupon that she could find in the papers left at the front of the store.
With a smile she reached out and tugged a bag from the shelf, pausing to consider, then grabbing a second. They were on sale after all.
