dozing ;;
@mpapollo continued from here:
He had sat upon a large rock near the water as the goddess continued her work. He had little idea what she had been doing, but she welcomed his performance. That was all that truly mattered to the god. So, pulling out his lyre, he quickly transformed the silence into the most lovely of tunes. It had been a new song that spewed from his fingers, and the harmonic tones seemed to work well to calm those around him.
Airmid had seemed struck by that too. Finished with her tasks and now seated beside him, the goddess soon drifted asleep, leaning against his shoulders. Apollo tilted his head toward the goddess as he felt the new weight, muffling a soft laugh behind his closed smile before continuing to play and allow her rest.
airmid wakes very slowly from her little nap, temporarily confused by the crick in her neck until she becomes more fully aware of the presence by her side; the one she had been comfortable enough with to let herself doze off to begin with.
apollo has been a set fixture in her life for many millennia by now, and even to this very day she still looks up at him with eyes as full of awe and admiration as she had those very first few times. admittedly the awe may be tempered a little by age and the admiration may have simmered down to the warm regard of someone in the same field, but there are some feelings only he ever brings out in her, and feelings she thinks she’ll never feel for anyone else again.
heaving out a soft sigh, she lifts a hand to rub at her eyes as she straightens up slowly. when her eyes catch apollo’s, she smile sheepishly, and then she’s suddenly just chuckling softly.
“i wasn’t trying to non-verbally say that your lyre play is so boring one would fall asleep listening to it,” she reassures him jokingly. “i swear.”
