[Additional Information:] Cormac McLaggen was a wizard and member of the McLaggen family, a family that's "big in the Ministry". He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1990 to 1997. He was Sorted into Gryffindor house and was one year above Harry Potter. McLaggen lost the opportunity to try out for his house's Quidditch team in his sixth year after he ate poisonous Doxy eggs on a bet, but became the reserve Keeper in his seventh year. During the course of his last year at Hogwarts, he also became a member of the Slug Club, escorted Hermione Granger to the club's Christmas party, and was primarily responsible for the Gryffindor Quidditch team's embarrassing loss to Hufflepuff by hitting Harry Potter (seeker at the time) over the head with a beater's bat. Though talented, and capable, Cormac’s impulsive tendencies often hold him back. Like most Gryffindor students, McLaggen participated in the final battle of the Second Wizarding War and fought along side the defenders of Hogwarts. Being part of that, however, has made a strong impact on Cormac, which has been revealed by a new side of him that goes beyond the superficial impression most hold on him. Cormac, and his best friend, Katie Bell are some of the few returning graduates that are back in their Gryffindor dormitories for one final year. By approval of McGonagall, Cormac has agreed to participate in Kingsley Shacklebolt’s latest Hogwarts Intern program. Cormac already met the necessary requirements of curriculum standards, but has an individual work-study that requiring him to take additional NEWTs during this school year. Cormac follows an independent schedule that requires a balance of time between part-time student, and part-time intern at the Ministry. He wasn’t all too thrilled about this at first, but with Kingsley Shacklebolt in charge, the Ministry is especially tackling a new attitude for equal opportunity. Needless to say, nepotism was not going to be his easy pass through the doors of the Ministry. Not even with family members as high at the top as his. But, he eventually had a change of attitude about the situation, much due to a fierce aspiration to follow the footsteps of his family legacy alongside his Uncle Tiberius, and Father. This has been his plan, and something Cormac has relentlessly stood he was certain about. Pursuing anything else was out of the question. Despite his impulsive behaviors of the past, last year’s involvement with DA has made him see things differently. Cormac has no doubts against himself, and stands tall with a firm belief that his strong determination and work ethics are Achieving-material. Nevertheless, Cormac doesn’t regret adding on another year, and is proud to admit it was worth fighting at the defense of Hogwarts. Having his former roommates, and best friend here with him has made the transition much easier, and less of a dragging year.
