The birds and the beams - an idea for a LD episode
A mysterious chest arrives for Billups. Rightfully suspicious of the sudden delivery Boimler and Mariner start to investigate the chest and its origin, only for it to activate a dart thrower, that injects Boimler with an unknown substance, causing him to properly freak out and then collapse.
In sickbay T'Ana scans him and starts to get strangely friendly...when called out the doc does some more scans...then hurries into her office room and turns on a quarantine field, to then explain, that Boimler´s body now produces a rather Orion looking kind of pheromone, to increase any attraction someone might have to him. Mariner of course declares herself immune and promises to guard Boimler, till they can fix this.
Tendi and Rutherford in the meantime notice that a member of the crew acts weird and seems to stalk Billups. They soon find out, that the new crewmember has actually been send to the Cerritos on behalf of Queen Paolana, to make sure she will be informed the moment her son looses his virginty, as was expected to happen thanks to the dart Boimler caught instead.
When the more and more desperate agent finally decides to fake the whole thing, to please the queen, Rutherford and Tendi sabotage the whole thing, making sure the queen instead gets a Gorn sex ed holo.
Boimler in the meantime does get a lot of attention...and freaks out from it. Mariner is also quite grumpy, while trying to keep pheromone crazed people away from Boimler and him from going crazy himself...more than usual. When they then run into Tendi and T'Lyn and both start to flirt with Boimler, T'Lyn being strangely unhinged and making awkwards jokes all the time, Mariner finally has enough and grabs Boimler to lock him up somehwere, where nobody is gonna get crazy for him, only to be ambushed by Castro and her salon friends, who liked Boimler before it became cool.
And with that Mariner snaps, phasers them...again while screaming hell and brimstone...only to then grab Boimler and kiss him.
This is when T'Ana gets the antiserum and saves Boimler from more, but the kiss with Mariner does remain between them and they try to have a conversation about it, but then Mariner finds that someone has plundered her romulan ale supply...it turns out that was T'Lyn who got utterly drunk to a degree that would kill all Humans and most Vulcans...she got a letter from home and is expected to come back to her family and that upset her greatly.
