A roughly 29x59" scrap of 1000D Cordura is apparently how much it takes to assemble T.G. Faust Body Armor

(I'm also not great at meshing stencils to conserve material :V)

Today I received 50 yards of 3" wide MIL-W-5664 Nylon Elastic

I needed some 3" elastic to replicate a variant of the T.G. Faust Body Armor with a 2-band cummerbund:

At first, I was worried that I didn't have the correct elastic, as the stuff on the example above was much duller, much squarer weave

But then I found the examples below, which have much shinier elastic more akin to what I have. Although I'm not confident the weave is identical, I have no shadow of a doubt these used nylon elastic because poly stuff is rarely this reflective:

My second attempt at making a reproduction of Delta-Modified T.G. Faust NATO SF Body Armor, patterns copied from a late 80's/early 90's original and its soft armor inserts fit inside.

There's one or two invisible errors to work out by the next one I make, but then again, rigger-modified originals weren't a spitting image of perfection either lol

Still deciding what (if any) custom pouches I want to add to the cummerbund, but aside from that, just needs a Rigger-Custom Assault Backpack (which interfaces with the clips and webbing on the back) and an AWS Holster Panel (I'm still working out the bugs on these).

T.G. Faust NATO Special Forces Body Armor, Rigger-Modified

Another one of my handmade reproductions, my first attempt at the famous T.G. Faust Body Armor used by Delta Force from the mid-1980's into the late 1990's.

These were commercially-available body armor that was often modified to accommodate various other custom tactical accessories in use with the unit at the time.

This repro is patterned off an original in my collection, and although this first attempt doesn't fit the soft armor perfectly, it is still an accurate representation, even down to the webbing, where most other repros often cheap out on.
