This song's made up almost entirely of samples of office supplies and computer sound effects. It's so unconventional that it's probably not going to win at all, but I think it's really good so I'm submitting it anyway
Santana Diabla Lopez-Pierce for Cosmopolitan for Latinas Magazine
Santana Diabla Lopez-Pierce, CEO of HBIC Talent Agency is making leaps and bounds in the entertainment industry. Since her agency inception back in 2014, she has grown from one single client to an entire full list of amazing talents. Her very first client Rachel Berry of Funny Girl fame, to Mercedes Jones who has just released a new Album that is already killing the game. She also has a plethora of makeup artists, writers, and singers who hope to be thrust into fame. When asked what her goal was, Ms. Lopez responded;
“I’m building an empire that will not only benefit me but my clients and the world who watches them. I haven’t been in this business as long as others but I know talent when I see it and my team gets things done. I don’t have time for slackers, or people who do half a** jobs. You work for me, you work for me- period. If one of my clients wants a last minute trip by noon, my people will work hard to get it done. It’s what we do.”
“Right this way.” The person held the door open for her, a hand guiding her into the room. A room that was small, very dull, and badly decorated, inhabited by three people - one sitting by behind a desk with a laptop in front of them, one standing one the right holding a rifle, and the last person standing on the left scrolling through the tablet in their hand. She felt so welcome.
The door was closed behind her. “Pointe, is it?” The man sitting behind the desk spoke. “Where’s my code?”
“I’m good thank you. And how are you?” Her English tutors raised her to be polite.
“I don’t give a shit, where is my code?”
The best escape route was back through the door she entered. First she’d have to handle this armed guard, plus this client sitting behind the desk and their techie. That, she could do easily. But then she’d also have to work her way past the two guards currently standing outside the room, the other two she saw on this floor, and another four she walked past as she was brought through the building. A challenge, but she was sure she could handle it.
The alternative was the window. A two storey jump into a garbage disposal - it would hurt like fuck but that’s not too bad.
“In my mind. I disposed of every other digital copy. Pay me first and then I’ll write it down.”
The man leaned back in his chair, a display of power. “We’ll just find a physical copy.”
“You said you wanted it before Wednesday didn’t you? And today is Tuesday-”
“You should have brought it sooner.” He raised his voice.
Mercy gives a calm nod. She purposely waited until the last possible moment of her deadline, so that they wouldn’t have time to find someone else to find the physical code. “Yes.”
“And how are we supposed to trust that your code is correct?”
A shrug from Mercy. Creating a sense of urgency was the best way for her to make money. And at this point, he either trusted her or not. Simple as. “You know I have a photographic memory, that’s why you hired me. Pay me, I’ll write the entire code for you, and I’ll sit here while you test it.”
She put her hands in her pockets while she watched the man rub his forehead and chin. She gave a small, professional nod to the gun-holding guard standing beside the desk. She would have given a nod to the techie but they were far too focused on their tablet. And finally she was given an answer. “Alright. How long will it take you to write it out?”
“2 hours,” she answered. 1 hour 30, and 30 minutes to spare.
“Aaron, take Ms. Pointe to the west office. Seth, go with them.”
