Nights and Freedom \ [Open]
Somehow, he'd done it. Made it through the bitter cold of Chicago's day and now he only had to get through the night, but if it was worrying on him - he didn't show it. If anything, the stubborn kid was thriving in being alone, though he always used the quarters he found to call Bobby and no matter what the man said about him actually being older, all Dean wanted to know was how Sammy was doing. Finally, Bobby seemed to give up on pranking him and admitted that Sammy was 'doin' just fine' and he wanted Dean to 'get on home' - wherever that was. No word about John, just a heavy silence before Bobby told him again to 'git on home'.
Now, how was he supposed to get from Chicago to Bobby's? Sometimes, the old hunter didn't think.
But, he was doing all right for himself. He made a few dollars, stole a few more, made it so he was able to get a couple pieces of pizza for dinner, one that the dog ate and the other that he sat down and enjoyed. Now, it was completely dark but he had no where to go and no one waiting up for him. He'd found a tennis ball earlier, some hothead asshole thought it'd be a good idea to send the ball spiking off his racket and towards the teen and his dog. Dean thought it hilarious when Sabe chased after him, at least till the cops heard the commotion, then it was running and losing them. Still, he had the tennis ball, and standing under the dim light of the moon, he hefted the tennis ball for Sabe to chase. He didn't have anything to do, and unless someone changed that - he'd throw the damn ball till he was too tired to throw and the dog was too tired to chase.
