How do you fix a mistake?
First, you need to acknowledge that one was made. Then you need to acknowledge that you were at fault and then you need to eventually come around and apologize for it.
Dating Jiho wasn’t a mistake, but breaking up with her probably was. It couldn’t be helped though, is what he kept telling himself. He had to do it, it was better this way. Of course, no one shared the same sentiment and he had managed to hurt more than one person in the process.
Wheein wasn’t necessarily a good friend by any means, but Jongdae was certainly very aware of her. He had known her even before Jiho had come into the picture, and dated her not knowing they were sisters. What a shock that was. He half expected Wheein to talk her sister out of dating him, he hadn’t ever left the greatest impression but surprisingly didn’t hear anything of that.
In the time that he was with Jiho, it seemed only natural that he would get to know Wheein a bit better. He certainly admired her for striving to be the best role model and best friend to his at the time girlfriend and he admittedly enjoyed sharing conversation with her between classes now and then. So it was only natural that when things fractured between him and Jiho it did between Wheein as well. She deserved an apology as much as her sister did.
So here he was, standing outside her door. Minutes had passed as he stood there, thinking if he should or shouldn’t. He could walk away and nothing will change, or he could stay and try to talk to her and maybe things will be better between them. Maybe. It had been over a year already and any apologies he should have given were probably overdue at this rate.
Still, it wouldn’t hurt to try right? He raised his hand and rang the doorbell, waiting.
