Mina was no stranger to comic books. Mina lived and breathed superheroes and mutants. Mina dreamed in two dimensions and jagged speech bubbles, in POWs and ZINGs and BLAMs and so, was it really a surprise to anyone that one of the first places to make the list of her favorite haunts was Area 51. Decked out in memorabilia and literature of her favorite types, it was no surprise that the slight girl could often be found combing the racks for hours on end, turning up every Monday and Saturday at precisely 2pm (she was a creature of habit). So was it any surprise that in her constant comings and goings she had started to come to the shop to pester the owner as much as anything else? Why wouldn’t she? She was on a mission to make friends in Hongdae, to get to know people, to make up for all the years and youth that illness had stolen from her by living her time now to the very fullest. So she spent a lot of time hanging around the shop arguing over who would win in a fight or whether or not Batman was really a ‘superhero’ or just a really, really awesome regular man (she maintained the latter, of course- a super hero had powers, had something supernatural about them; batman was certainly a hero but he wasn’t super, aside from super rich). Jinyoung put up with that really well, all smiling fox eyes and easy grins, loud laughter and increasingly brightly colored hair. She came to think of him as a friend, and it was with that in mind that she picked up coffee and a muffin for him on her way home from class, swinging by the store with a bright grin and a bounce in her step. “Hey, loser, whats up?” she chirped cheerfully as she brandished the gifts at him, leaning against the counter to gin across at him. “Anything new in?”
