Trader Joe’s Chili Onion Crunch! I brought this all the way from Massachusetts to Tokyo before realizing that it’s basically taberu rayu, which you can buy at literally any grocery store here......
But!!! If not for this stuff, I wouldn’t have realized that taberu rayu is also delicious with bread, pizza, and pasta! This one probably more so than average, because it’s olive oil based, but it does also go well with fried rice, so a standard Japanese version would probably be fine with Western foods as well.
